I stayed at Kempinski Shanghai in October 2023 and had also previously stayed in Kempinski Xiamen. My recent stay was a disappointment. I booked 3 rooms; 2 King bed and 1 Twin for 1 pax (Guest, Kho Chuan Seng). I ended up having a nose allergy here while staying. We didn't that I know that hotel in China people can actually smoke here so I didnt make a complain for my 2 nights stay here. On last night I clarify late at night about the smoking with the staff, they mentioned that they put us in a smoking floor and ask if “you dont smoke at all?” And do offer the room change but we were too tired to pack and move for less than 8 hrs until we check out. - Bed on the 8th floor is extremely soft that you would sink in the bed. The spring came out from the side of the bed. Too disappointing for such a good brand as Kempenski. This is the worst Kempenski so far I stayed. Warning, coming to the pool here you need a swimming cap as a regulation from the goverment. They should put this is the website or inform guests to prepare. We didn't have ours an ridiculously need to buy for another 80rmb. - check in was smooth but the staff should inform us that the floor in smoking floor we specifically request for non smoking in the booking. -
