ibis budget Sydney Airport

10/10 Excellent

"I chose Ibis Budget for its proximity to the airport and affordable pricing. What I didn't expect was the level of service — a stark contrast to my previous experience at the same hotel. I arrived on 13/05/2026 nearly three hours before check-in, bracing for indifferent staff. Instead, I was met by two remarkably warm and empathetic front desk attendants — I wish I had caught their names, because they truly deserve recognition. Their welcome felt completely sincere, the kind you cannot teach. When I asked to store my luggage, the receptionist gently let me know my room was already ready — offered as a genuine kindness, not a reluctant favour. Later, I urgently needed to print an important document. I asked if I could pay for the service. Without hesitation, the receptionist said it was complimentary — a small but deeply appreciated act of generosity for a weary traveller. I am truly grateful to those staff members who made such a difference, and to the management who clearly empower their team to remain warm and humane in a demanding, high-volume role. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and sincerely hope you experience the same wonderful kindness I did. Thank you."

"Staff were unhelpful, housekeeping looked to have rushed room including missing essentials like toilet paper. They were still cleaning rooms next to us after arriving at 8pm. It was a good job we’d been travelling for over 14 hours so just showered and passed out asleep. Would not stay here again and pay the amount we did, it wasn’t worth it."

"Generally when I stay at the Travelodge it is seamless however, the last visit was disappointing. I had to wait an hour for my room which was booked well in advanced and the restaurant was closed even tho the receptionist said it was open. Lots of people ordering at the bar and nowhere to sit. Comfortable room. Shuttle service great."

"Great location in the Mascot pedestrian shopping precinct. Everything at your doorstep if you plan to cook etc., in the suite. Kitchen is well equipped and all essentials well laid out. Lots of room in the one bedrooms suite (although the one I had this time had everything included like the last stay but was smaller but more then adequate as I used it as an overnight hotel as it's close to the airport). Two words of advise. 1) If you can, choose an Uber to get there from SYD. I got into a cab and got grief from the cabbie as he was upset that the fare was so close to the hotel (he had to line up in order to get a stop to pick up passengers at the terminal). Or make sure to tell the cab driver before he loads your luggage where you are going. 2) Make sure you give the driver the correct address as there are 2 Meriton hotels in the same area."
