Enjoy a great cooking experience in the HUGE kitchen/ dining room addition, surrounded by windows so you can watch the wildlife roam and play outside. Take your shoes off and get comfortable! The Red Cottage is a kick-back-and-relax kind of home. Simple but with special touches; cozy but accorded common spaces that invite friendly get-togethers; private but not isolated. This warm and welcoming Woodstocky home is situated on 4 acres, just 7 minutes from town. There are two cozy bedrooms, each with queen-size beds; one bath with a tub and shower combination; a large living room that boasts a vaulted ceiling, a hand-built stone fireplace, and a quiet nook for reading. There is a flat-screen TV with basic cable (and 3 movie channels!), WiFi, and air conditioning units for the warmest days. And this is a house with a sense of humor, as evidenced by the art you will find sprinkled throughout the home by the well-known artist-owners. The cottage is original Woodstock, tastefully updated to maintain its quirky nature without sacrificing modern convenience. The large cook’s kitchen with dining area is stocked with plenty of cookware and utensils, a 4-burner gas stovetop, separate large electric oven, and windows that wrap around the vaulted room on 3 sides for beautiful views of the outdoors every season of the year. For outdoor enjoyment, we’ve provided two charcoal grills, an outdoor eating area, a hammock for lazing, and a fire pit for enjoying convivial evenings. You’ll find special little spots all over the property for sitting, contemplating, or for playing outdoor games. This is a great house for families and close friends. House was large and spacious. The grounds were private and nestled into a mountain and the adjacent woods which was awesome. Very quiet and peaceful with close proximity to the town of Woodstock. It was more spacious than expected, enough to spread out and enjoy some quiet down time. Having a big kitchen space to enjoy making dinner in, coffee in the mornings and unwinding in the evenings was a real treat. The only unexpected thing was we were not prepared for the amount of ticks, so this limited our time using the outdoor space. Otherwise everything was fantastic and I would definitely come back again. ##### Michelle B. The property and home were better than the pictures. Heated floors were a plus. Loved that there was a hiking trail across the street as it made it super easy with our dogs. We had everything we needed to be renewed and to enjoy this beautiful area. The kitchen, especially, was a delight - well-equipped spacious and a wonderful gathering spot. So comfortable and friendly, My husband and I stayed here for a few days with another couple, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The house is really clean, and it feels so friendly and comfortable. We ate most meals at "home," cooking in that big kitchen or grilling out, and we didn't really feel a lot of desire to leave the house. The property is quiet, private, and we all relaxed in a way none of us had in a long time. We'll definitely be back! ##### Rachel W. Far enough off the beaten path to enjoy the sounds of silence, but just a short drive into Woodstock. It was a real bonus having a hiking trail right across the street. It was romantic and cozy in the living room by the fire but the STAR was by far the kitchen full of windows and a wonderful island. The incredible banquet surrounding the massive table was perfect for games, dinner and curling up and with a good conversation. The heated floors were a surprise and added to the atmosphere! The house was perfect for us, with the lovely fireplace, the yard for our border collie to wander around in, and its proximity to Woodstock and to both the Hudson Valley and the Catskills wilderness. The house was perfect for us, especially the spectacular kitchen, were we basically lived for much of our trip. The house is comfortable and cozy, and we would highly recommend it, especially for those traveling with pets. ##### Bridget S. We were welcomed with a few local treats and a note about my dad, a Woodstock character for many years. It was spotless and comfortable. We enjoyed an unseasonably warm evening outside in front of a fire, saw plenty of deer, and enjoyed peace in the woods. At the end of our long days, we were happy to zone out for a bit on the smart tv :) The art in the place was also really cool! ##### Hira B.
