We had a great stay in this property, dropped the friends at the airport Tuesday morning and spent the rest of the week checking out the area and beaches with our French Bulldog who never leave my side.
The property is well maintained. clean and very comforting, my bed was, super comfortable.
Opposite Austinmer Beach and a short walk to the dog beach which we did a couple of times a day. Coffee shop close by although the hosts do supply a coffee machine for the early morning lift.
All was good until my wife contacted me on day before I was due to check out that the owners/managers had hit our bank account for a substantial holding deposit/payment which on enquiring an answer from the hosts was basically not to worry it will be refunded in 24 hrs.
Yes,we did receive our funds back within 24 hrs. however nowhere on the booking platform does it state that that a holding deposit will be debited from your account and if that is the case, We as pet and a long term Stayz holiday home provider would have had no issue in paying this fee upfront. However, it was a shock when this large was removed from our account without our knowledge or approval the day prior to our departure.
We can understand that property owners have concerns about issues arising from ppl and pets staying in their properties and wanting some protection however being upfront is better being blindsided less than 24 hrs. prior to departure.
The owners apologized to us, and I believe are correcting the listing.
