Great house and location
My husband and I enjoyed the away-from-the-crowds location and house. The house was clean, very well supplied, had nice bedrooms/bathrooms and was close enough to Acadia Nat'l. Park sites, particularly Schoodic Point, and some decent restaurants. Although we didn't get around to riding bikes, we were impressed that bike helmets were supplied along with bikes. We enjoyed breakfast every morning at the J.M. Gerrish restaurant around the corner. Overall we had a very positive experience!

Loved our stay!
The house was very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill. The area was quiet and the view of the water was amazing. There were deer in the yard one morning. We would love to stay there again.

Wonderful Winter Harbor
This was our second stay at this lovely home and it did not disappoint! We love the quiet side of Acadia and Sharon’s home is perfect for our family of 3! Clean and well appointed, walking distance to the cove, restaurants, grocery & the beloved five and dime! Owner provided lots of info about the area and was quick to respond to questions. Laundry onsite was great and kitchen had all we needed. We hope to stay again soon!

Our family absolutely loved our stay in Winter Harbor. The house was close to beautiful sites and fun activities and I'm not sure we've stayed in a better appointed house. Would absolutely return again and again.

Wonderful Experience
We had the best trip. The house was perfect for our family of 5. It was very clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies, and anything else you could need. The location was Great! We loved being able to see the water from the house and beingso close to Scoodic. We had dinner at the Treehouse on the corner, it was Fantastic! Breakfast at JMGerrish was delicious and if you are Starbucks snob like me the espresso at Downeaster is on point! Thank You for a wonderful experience!

Property was spotless and well appointed. The only thing I would suggest is a sign at the bottom of the stairwell warning that the ceiling at the top of the stairs is extremely low! To prevent any head injuries, that should be mandatory.

Perfect Getaway
This is a wonderful little house just steps from Winter Harbor. The location was perfect for exploring the area and coming back to relax and watch the water. We would definitely book this house again in the future.

Fabulous!
Property was immaculately clean. Appliances were all updated. Beds were super comfortable. Location was nice and quiet. Half a block walk to the water easy walk to downtown.Will highly recommend this place.

Great place to stay. House was centrally located and easy in and out. Clean and neat. A/C was super quiet, bathrooms were clean and modern. Built in 1860 so stairs were a little steep for 60’s couples. Quiet neighborhood. Overall good experience.

Great Stay

Family get away
Loved the location of the house. Was on the quiet side of Acadia but we love to hike and sit and watch the waves at Schoodic Point. We took the ferry to Bar Harbor and had a great time. Took our morning walks around town. The house was comfortable and new bathrooms nice. Would rent here again.

Amazing Property!
This house and property had everything we could have wanted in a vacation rental! The location was great, lots of useful amenities, and the house was spotless when we arrived! Sharon is available when you have questions and responds very quickly. We definitely hope to be back in the future!

Great house. Small town feel.
The house was charming, well appointed with everything we could want. Nice appliances, updated bathrooms and great location. One of the best places we’ve rented. Schoodic peninsula has lots of close hikes and views of sunrise and sunset. Loved the vibe and friendliness of the town. Would love to come back!

Fall at Winter Harbor
Lovely historic home with all the necessary amenities. You can walk to the grocery store, Five & Dime store (cute), and dining. From the Master bedroom window, you can watch the lights on the harbor dance on the water. Visited Acadia NP, Bar Harbor, and went out fishing and lobstering! Was our anniversary trip with friends. Would definitely stay at this VRBO house if we get to come back....

Relaxing getaway
We loved our stay here! The house was in the perfect location for us. We had everything we needed and quickly made ourselves at home. Winter Harbor definitely has the small-town vibe. This section of Acadia National Park is quieter & less crowded. Thanks to a Park Ranger recommendation, we went to Schoodic Point for sunset almost every evening. She did not steer us wrong.

Our California family of 6 stayed at this home for one week and had an excellent trip experiencing Maine for the first time. Would highly recommend to others, especially if you don’t only want to spend time in Bar Harbor area.

What an excellent home in such a beautiful place. Even if you are planning to spend a lot of time in Acadia, avoid the cars and traffic and ferry back and forth and use the free busses on MDI. We had a wonderful time and were super comfortable, even on some hot days, with air conditioning. Home is in a perfect location. Walk to food, coffee, and a farmers market. House is very well appointed — nothing cheap or chintzy, and everything you need is there. We will be back!

This little house is wonderful.. Everything you need to relax and enjoy a small piece of Maine

Alas, I failed to see that the only bathroom is on the first floor and all bedrooms upstairs. This didn't work for me as elderly and needing to use bathroom during night but unsafe on stairs which have an arched ceiling. Also, no running water upstairs.

Perfect Location for Exploring Schoodic Peninsula
This was the perfect location for our family. We were minutes from Acadia Park on Schoodic Peninsula and within easy driving distance to other great hiking areas away from larger crowds near Bar Harbor and the more popular areas of Acadia National park. The house had everything we needed, including travel guides to help us find beautiful and peaceful places to visit throughout the week.

Property was nice and a walking distance from most everything in the small community. The property included all that we needed including a grill, bikes and toys for the kids. Relaxation at it's Finest
We very much enjoyed our weeklong stay at this house. With a bay view from the master bedroom, the unique structure, and quiet location all being a plus, we cannot recommend this house enough. We enjoyed sunsets each night in the Schoodic area of Acadia, just minutes away. This section of the park was fairly private and relaxing, whereas we needed to sit through traffic over in Bar Harbor for busy views. There is a Tuesday farmer's market right across the street, a delicious seafood experience right next door, and our other favorites The Lob-store and and a one-man coffee shop also just a few minutes away. Sharon's hospitality was great. There were many pamphlets, menus, and information guides for us, she was very responsive to questions, and even left us a jar of special Maine blueberry jam. The three of us had plenty of room to stay. There were supplies for us to cook fresh lobsters and a backyard propane grill. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The only tip we would give for those booking, is the bathroom is a little tight. We are younger, but for an older crowd, a big step into the bathtub style shower may be little harder. We would recommend the espresso blueberry twist ice cream from Me & Ben's (right up the street from the park entrance), tuna poke from the Lob-store, a lobster roll from restaurant next door, a park sunset and a round of golf at Grindstone Neck (remarkable ocean views on every hole!). This is absolutely the best way to enjoy Maine! Our first experience here was everything we imagined and we can't wait to return. We would absolutely book this location again and highly recommend it!

We had an excellent stay! The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Schoodic Peninsula is great as there is plenty to do with biking, hiking and Junior Ranger Programs for kids under 12. If you’re looking for a vacation away from the crowds stay here.

Fantastic Location!!
We had a wonderful stay at your house! The house is in a fantastic location. Schoodic Point is a must see as is the ferry ride to Bar Harbor. The place is clean and well furnished. We used the bikes to ride to Schoodic Point and it was breathtaking. The Pickled Wrinkle is a definite must to eat at, the Fish and Chips were amazing!

My husband and I really enjoyed our vacation to Winter Harbor, and loved the property we stayed in. The house is located within walking distance to restaurants, the harbor, and is a short drive from Acadia National Park. We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the home was. It truly was like staying in our own home. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were plenty of paper products, towels, bedding, etc. There are puzzles, games, movies and books if you have a day you want to stay in. We had one rainy day during our stay - the rest of the time we were out and about because there is so much beauty to see in the area. All the bedrooms are upstairs, and the stairs are a bit steep (this is a well-maintained older home). This wasn't an issue for us, but might be for someone who can't climb stairs easily. We took the ferry to Bar Harbor a couple of days and it's a fun, informative ride. We saw porpoise and harbor seals on every ride and lobster pots are everywhere! It was fun to watch the lobstermen pull their pots with the lobsters for the day. Bar Harbor is a busy town with *lots* of traffic. If you drive there, go early to grab a good parking spot. Once you're parked you can walk all over town and take the Island buses (free) to various spots around the island. We took Oly's Trolley (a paid tour) to the top of Cadillac Mountain one day, then took our own car the next. The tour gave us lots of info and then taking our car allowed us to spend more time catching the magnificent views. Sharon & George were so nice to rent from. Sharon called the day we arrived to make sure we were settled in and gave us lots of info on things to do. We enjoyed our trip and would stay here again if we get to visit Maine again.
