Thank you for your comments. May I add that we do have 'Do Not Disturb' signs available in each room if you don't want the staff to clean. You also opted for the Room Only option which gives you the flexibility of having breakfasts or not. You didn't mention to us that the scrambled eggs weren't cooked to your liking, if you had done we could have cooked you some more for you. Please do come again but can you ask for well done eggs next time, we aim to please.

Thank you for your review, we do advertise that we are on the main road just outside Windermere village so there is some traffic noise, some guests hear it, some don't. May I add that you have failed to mention that we do provide fans in the rooms for guest's comfort.

For the record, the mark on the ceilings you mentioned were made last week by someone having a shower with the shower door wide open, flooding the bathroom floor, which meant that the water came through the floor into the rooms below. We have had to wait for the ceilings to dry, which they now have done, so we can patch up the marks.

I am really torn on how to reply to these comments. Firstly I am pleasantly surprised with the score of 3 as these guests complained about absolutely everything from the moment they arrived until the moment they checked out. It seemed that nothing was going to be good enough for them so I will take a 3 out 5 any day. The situation with the mattress was unfortunate. The previous guests had an accident and the staff's only option was to dry the mattress as much possible before these guests arrived, they booked the day of arrival so we had to find a 'quick fix'. The mattress is a 'one side only' which the staff did not realise so this is why it was uncomfortable. As soon as this was mentioned we flipped the mattress back round again (it was now dry) and the matter was resolved. Please believe me that I was interested in the issue, I'm disappointed that they feel that I did not care. It's a shame they don't want to return to us, many people do. Please look at our other reviews from people who have a different perspective on life...

How do I reply to this review??? The guest has remained anonymous so I don't know who they are, when they stayed with us or which room that they had. This review is completely value-less to us and to future guests reading it as it has no comment on what was wrong. We do ask guests that if they have any issues while they are here that they discuss them with us and give us an opportunity to correct them. All I can ask of future guests seeing this score and comment is to please look at the other reviews that we have had from other guests, this score is certainly a one -off. I am baffled.

Thank you for your comments and I would like to take this opportunity to reply to them. Firstly, the patio area outside the breakfast conservatory will soon be flush with colour as when you were with us, it was too early to have the plants in the pots that we normally have. The 15 pots are empty at the moment, when you stayed last time it could well have been later in the year. With regards to breakfasts, we stopped offering the 'Full English' 2 years ago as we found that of the minority of people who ordered it, even less actually finished it so there was a lot of waste. We do have many cooked options on the menu that is viewable on our website. We always like to here from our guests so thank you for doing so and we are glad these minor 'niggles' didn't ruin your stay.

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay with us. Whilst we are delighted that in general you enjoyed your stay, we would like to clarify a few points. We advertise on our website our full breakfast menu and yes, we have not offered a 'Full English' for a couple of years now since we found that the majority of guests who ordered it, never finished it and we were wasting a lot of food. We have a substantial buffet including meats, cheeses, yoghurts, danish pastries cereals and fruit juices. Our cooked options include the breakfast bap as you mention, which is bacon, mushroom and egg on a toasted muffin, we also offer scrambled egg with salmon on a muffin, eggs benedict, bacon and pancakes, bacon and waffles (not just for our US guests) and poached/scrambled egg on toast. We did have 3 staff on for Easter Monday and as I mentioned to you there were 2 staff on duty on the day after. Why the plates did not get cleared away immediately is unclear. We are sorry that these slight niggles took the edge of your stay but hopefully we will see you again.

I'm not quite sure how a full buffet of meats and cheeses, yoghurts, danish pastries, cereals and fruit juices, followed by 7 cooked options is bland. We do offer a Room Only rate for people who may prefer to use the cafes which are just 2 minutes walk from us.

We are glad that this guest has enjoyed their stay with us but it is really difficult for us to respond when they have decided to stay anonymous. We are not sure how we have been 'abrupt' and unresponsive to emails when we don't know who the guests are. We are planning a re-paint this winter, we have had a really busy few seasons and finding time to redecorate is very difficult.

Hi, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay here but we're guessing you mean soft not slow for the bed. Mattress softness/hardness is one of the hardest elements of a B&B so we have gone down the middle on this, unfortunately we won't be perfect for everyone.
