We're a short walk to Little Supermarket, town parks, and the visitors bureau. A great location for outdoor enthusiasts with beautiful river frontage! "River Stone Retreat" is our studio apartment/guest quarters. It is a part of our old village home, and has been recently renovated. It includes: One queen size bed/ Fold out love seat(folds out to a twin bed)/kitchenette with sink, microwave, single-burner induction cook top, Keurig coffee maker, full size refrigerator/ Table with seating for 3/ compact stereo/ Full bath with shower and jacuzzi jet tub. It is decorated with works by local artists, including some of Meg's own work. The apartment includes a separate entryway and the ability to be fully closed off from the rest of our home for privacy. We'll provide a variety of toiletries and clean towels. During your stay you are welcome to take advantage of our riverfront property with gardens, outdoor seating, and of course, The River Stone Wellness center! Book a massage, or join a yoga class. We'll be happy to accommodate. We love meeting our guests! That said, please understand that we have local day jobs. We are available in short notice usually most of the waking hours of the day by e-mail/text/phone. We live in the house that the apartment is part of, so we're seldom too far away. Wilmington is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. The town is surrounded by the Whiteface, Stephenson, and Sentinel mountain ranges and split by the West Branch of the Ausable river. With a long history of Adirondack hospitality, Wilmington is the perfect place for a quiet retreat to the mountains. The busy streets of Lake Placid are a 15 minute drive away. Wilmington is home to Whiteface ski area, the newly re-constructed Whiteface Memorial highway, the original and iconic Santa's Workshop, some of the best fly fishing in the country, an extensive network of world-class hiking and mountain biking trails, and some of the finest rock and ice climbing routes anywhere in the Adirondacks. A great selection of craft beers can be found at North Pole CG, Shopping opportunities include custom built bikes, chainsaws, homemade chocolate, or the biggest sub sandwich you've ever seen for 6$ from the Little Supermarket. Our town senior shuttle bus is routinely used throughout the summer as a mountain bike shuttle, and there isn't a single stop light anywhere in town. Welcome to Wilmington. We like it here, and we think you will too! Public transit is sparse here. Private taxi service is available. We're glad you're interested in our area. We hope you have a great trip no matter where you stay! No smoking inside, no pets. Check in and check out time is flexible depending on the arrival or departure of other guests. No waxing skis, tuning bikes, or cleaning fish inside the apartment please. Just let us know if you will need a space to work on your gear, clean fish, etc. We will be happy to accommodate you! The place is very clean and the bed very conformable which are the most important things to me. The rental is exactly as it apears on the website. Wilmington is a cute little town with an wonderful Italian restaurant a small grocery and a small liquior store. There gas price was the best in the ADK. There are beautiful hikes trails and places to bike. We did a ride around Lake Fern which you can ride to from the rental. Absolutely a outstanding ride.
