Staff was amazing, food was great. We surprised our young adult kids on a little side trip from Scottsdale, and stayed a night at Backland. We shared a tent with five of us and were very comfortable. What an amazing place to walk and explore. Carly and Chase are incredible, down to earth and so welcoming! Backlands is an amazing place to disconnect yourself from the everyday. The property is gorgeous with so much to do, and take in. To waking up every morning and see Elk and deer in the fields to Unbelievable stargazing!! Staff was very nice and always attentive. Had fires going outside at night, smores at the ready. I would bring snacks next time since getting to a town is harder/longer on the forest dirt roads. Spent the days kayaking, fishing, playing chess and a bunch of other games made available by the property, walked through the forest, watched the rain, watched the moon through the telescope available at the property … all in all - an amazing experience !!!
