The former Chaucer House Hotel was converted into 14 luxury apartments and is located in the heart of Keswick with all amenities on the doorstep. It is in a very quiet part of the town but still only five minutes’ walk to Market Square and ten minutes’ to the lake shore. It is a perfect base to enjoy a holiday in the Northern Lakes. With many walks surrounding this pretty town, your car may never leave its parking space. This is a well equipped apartment warm and cosy and has everything you could need. There are a couple of negatives but how you view them depends on what you want from a base. It is a lower ground apartment so it is a little dark, thought there is good lighting. As the living and kitchen area is combined if you want to cook the smoke alarm does kick in unless you have one on standby to “waft” , it wasn’t an issue for us but don’t know if it bothered the neighbours. It is in a good location for the town and the are lots of eateries close by, or takeaways if you prefer. It has a lovely bathroom and bedroom with a comfy bed and it has a private parking space which is a premium in this area. The apartment also had lots of walk books and maps so you could certainly plan your days. The apartment itself is comfortable and cosy with almost everything you can think of that you would need. The only negative is that being a basement apartment there are only a couple of windows to let in light but with no view, and making the weather a surprise on leaving each morning 😁.
