Great Hotel, Very Secluded
If you want to get away and not be bothered by anything this is the place. It has 19 rooms and there is nothing else around. A very charming place to just relax and charge your batteries before your next adventure around the island.

No Hot Water in the standard rooms. That's important. If you can get past that, and the large travel times to the docks, nightlife, and sights of Phuket, it's not bad. Nice grounds and restaurant. Nice mini spa. I upgraded to the Superior room to get AC and hot water for a few nights. Also, the walls in the standard rooms are paper thin. Seriously [...], no hot water or AC in a Standard room for a 3star hotel??? If you get a superior room, and you like to get away from the hustle, this place is a gem, but....

Baan Panwa
The staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was nice - we upgraded to a deluxe room so we could have AC. The free wi-fi was a bonus. The only thing we didn't really like is that it's a bit of a drive to go to the nice beaches, and pretty out of the way. Very quiet, though, and decent facilities. The shower was wonderful!

Some things you should know up front...
When you look at the pictures of this hotel, the rooms you likely see are the "Superior" rooms. These superior rooms are quite nice, spacious, comfortable, nice bathroom, and each has it's own private patio/courtyard. We had originally booked "Standard" rooms. The standard rooms however are tiny, have no A/C, have a shower and toilet outside on the porch (private), and a mosquito coil next to the bed... seriously. Fortunately, we ran into another guest who had the same issue and was able to upgrade. We spoke to the staff and were able to upgrade to the superior room for about $10/night extra. If the nicer rooms had not been available, we probably would have gone to another hotel. Okay, with that little gem of information out of the way, this hotel isn't bad. The Superior rooms are quite nice, the staff was super friendly, the hotel restaurant had good food at average prices, they have wireless internet, a nice pool, you can rent mountain bikes, kayaks, etc, and they have an extensive list of massage and spa options. The property is also quite beautiful, with lush tropical forest, nice gardens, and fish ponds just our side the rooms. The location of the hotel, on the Panwa Cape, is quite a ways from anything. "Secluded" would be a good description. It is about 45 minutes from Patong Beach (where most of the action/nightlife is) and about 20 minutes from the nearest shopping mall. If you sign up for any of the tours to neighboring islands (Phi Phi, Krabbi, etc) expect about a 1-hour transit to the point of debarkation. This can lead so some early mornings. The hotel has a car and driver that can arrange to take you wherever you want to go. We drove around to several locations for the better part of the day and it cost about 1000 baht, which seemed very reasonable. They also offer transportation to the airport (about an hour away). Would I recommend the hotel? That really depends on what your intentions are. If you want to fly to Phuket, and just have a place to relax, lay by the pool, maybe go on one or two tours, get a massages, and not be bothered by anyone for a week... then sure, this could be the place for you. However, if you are just looking for a place to sleep at night while you do a tour every day or party at Patong, then you might want to look elsewhere. This hotel, and the Panwa-area in general, are expanding and developing to be more tourist-centric. It would be interesting to see how the area develops over the next few years.

A very relaxing getaway
The location of the resort might not be ideal as its kind of in the middle of nowhere. The pricing is reasonable, but I do not recommend those little huts with no air-conditioning. They are very hot, dark, do not have the outside bath as the pictures show and that the toilet and shower are outside, at the back of the rooms. Nevertheless, the friendly staff has made the whole stay better!

We stayed here for 11 nights,
We stayed here for 11 nights, and it was just wonderful. Very helpful staff, good food and the pool is great. This place is located away from the busy area so a nice place to come to relax. A good tip is to rent a scooter when staying here.

Wahooo!! i had a perfect holiday for 6 days(21-26 march 2010) and its a perfect place to stay, quiet and relaxing.The staffs of Baan Panwa Resort & Spa are very very helpful in anyway.Will definately come back to visit again...!! The only problem is to get around the island for those who likes to shop and sightseeing and it's not worth to travel by taxi(very expensive).It's best to rent a motorbike only cost 300baht for 24hr service.

The hotel itself is very nice and peaceful. The service was great, but at sometimes they were short staffed. The price is very affordable. The only thing about this place is that, it's quite far from everything else. It's about 40 minutes from Patong, the nightlife capital of Phuket, and about 50 minutes from Kata and Karon beaches. The taxi rate in Phuket is ridiculous. To take the taxi from the hotel to Patong would cost at least 600 Baht, to Kata about 700 Baht. I had to spend at least 1500 Baht on taxi each day. If you're looking to stay at a secluded area of Phuket and far from everything else, this is the place for you.

The hotel is clean and good value for the money. There are two problems that you should aware about. First, there's no meter taxi in Phuket and using taxi service is very inconvenient and expensive, especially at a remoted area like Panwa. But getting around by motorbike is fun and easy. The nearby beach is nice and almost nobody there, which I really like. The restaurant is slow in serving. We enjoyed the wiew point up to the hill nearby. It's really nice view.

Peace and quiet in Southern Phuket
The Baan Panwa was our favourite accommodation in Thailand. We didn't want to be in the tourist-y Patong Beach or the riddled Phuket Town, and so found this resort near the Cape of Panwa. What a delight. The Balinese rooms and lush gardens made for the most beautiful retreat. We went for one night and ended up staying 4! The staff was super friendly, the food was great, the sunsets behind the giant budha across the bay were astonishing. The spa services were nice, the pool was refreshing, there were bikes and kayaks and activities to hire. It was a place where we were able to forget what day it was and truly feel like we were on vacation.

Spent 8 beautiful days at Baan Panwa. It is very secluded and quiet: nothing like Patong etc. A great escape! Staff are lovely and the food very good both in value and taste. Resort Manager very helpfull and will arrange taxi, trips etc. Great pool and spa: my wife had several spa treatments and thought they were great and offered very good value. Rooms are adequate although walls are thin! But with air conditioner on, no real issue. Highly recommend if you want a quiet space.

Platsen var helt okej även om stranden var mer som en lerig bukt (lågvatten). Standardrummen hade väldigt låg standard med wc och dusch utomhus på bakgård där det var smutsigt och sprang råttor. Hade dock ändå funkat om det inte var för att det luktade mycket mögel. Samtliga rum som vi fick kika på (ca 5 st) luktade mögel. Hotellinnehavaren blev arg då vi inte var nöjda direkt och visade upp ett väldigt illa beteende. Han var inte direkt välkomnande då vi kom heller. Vi åkte vidare till ett annat ställe trots att vi ej fick några pengar tillbaka. Han lurade dessutom på oss en väldigt dyr taxi, antagligen någon vän till honom (som hade väldigt svårt att hitta). Området ligger väldigt off allting egentligen. Phukets sydspets och mot väst rekommenderas mer.

จองที่พักไว้ล่วงหน้าหลายเดือน คงเป็นความซวยของเราที่วันที่เราเข้าพัก ทางโรงแรมมีนักเรียนมาเข้าค่าย ซึ่งส่งเสียงดังรบกวนมาก และเวลาก็ดึกแล้วด้วย โทรไปแจ้งเจ้าหน้าที่ให้ช่วยจัดการ ก็ไม่จัดการให้ บอกว่า รอสักพักเดี๋ยวก็คงเงียบไปเอง พอนักเรียนมาเข้าค่าย ส่วนที่พักก็ไม่มีความเป็นส่วนตัว สระว่ายน้ำก็ไม่ส่วนตัว เพราะเด็กนักเรียนวิ่งไปวิ่งมา ที่จอดรถก็กลายเป็นที่เข้าแถวของพวกนักเรียนเข้าค่าย ทำให้จอดรถไม่สะดวก เข้า-ออก ลำบากมาก อาหารเช้าก็ไม่ดี และน้อยมากด้วย พนักงานก็ไม่เต็มใจให้บริการ เอาแต่สนใจพวกคุณครูที่มาเข้าค่ายกับนักเรียน ตอนที่เดินทางไปถึง พนักงานยังมาถามด้วยว่า "ต้องให้ช่วยถือกระเป๋ามั้ย" ....นี่เหรอคะคำถามของพนักงานโรงแรม ปกติเขามีแต่มาบริการให้ทันที ราคาก็แพง คืนละเกือบ 2 พัน ได้บริการแบบนี้ ? ไปพัก guest house ในเมือง ยังดีกว่าอีก บอกตรงๆไม่ประทับใจเลย แย่มาก

Schönes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Vom Flughafen Phuket ca 60 Minuten entfernt und etwas abgelegen. Für Ausflüge braucht man also ein Taxi, TukTuk oder einen Roller. Sehr gute Küche!!!

Det har været en dejlig oplevelse på dette hotel. Man havde den rigtige følelse af ferie. Ingen stress eller larmende gæster. Det var et Resort, der lægger op til relax og selvfordybelse. Lige rundt om hjørnet kunne man opleve den lokale befolkning, som er utrolige smilende og hjælpsomme og jeg fik aldrig den følelse, at de trængte sig på. Alt i alt en god ferie, der helt sikkert skal opleves igen og igen. Der er rigtig meget, at udforske lige uden for døren...En fantastisk base...

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff is very nice and helpful. It is quite isolated hotel, which means you will be alone most of the time, and will need to rent a byke or pay lots for texies. The nearest town (Phuket Town) has nothing to offer, you'd better go to Patong, which is a long drive...

stille dejligt sted kun 45 min fra lufthavnen
Vi havde bestil 3 nætter, men tog endnu en nat, da vi godt kunne lide at udforske området på knallert. Der var nogle rigtig fredelige natur skønne områder indenfor ca 10 km radius. Til prisen var det et rigtig godt hotel og kun 45 min fra lufthavnen.

Ruhiger Rückszugsort vom Trubel in und um Phuket
Ich kam für 1 Nacht und blieb 5. Kein Straßenlärm, dafür schöne Mangroven- Naturgeräusche. Es geht sehr flach in die Bucht. Gut für Kleinkinder. In einer Nacht hatte sich ein kapitaler Frosch im Wasserbasin direkt vor meinem Zimmer niedergelassen. Er brachte es auf 80 dB(A) in meinem Schlafzimmer - das ist so laut wie ein vorbeifahrender LKW in 7 m Entfernung. Er ließ sich gemütlich mit einer Plastiktüte fangen. Weit genug entfernt wieder ausgesetzt brachte die ersehnte Ruhe zurück. Wen sowas nicht abschreckt ist hier richtig. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Z.B. organisierte sie mir dieselbe Weiterreise nach Krabi für den halben Preis, wie ein professioneller Veranstalter.

Schöne Hotelanlage in ruhiger Umgebung
Wir sind mit geringen Ansprüchen angereist,auch aufgrund älterer nicht so positiver Hotelbewertungen und des recht günstigen Preises. Uns erwartete jedoch eine geflegte und sehr schöne Hotelanlage. Die Zimmer sind älter,jedoch sauber,ausgestattet mit Klima,Flat-TV(kaum deutsches Fernsehen),Kühlschrank,Wasserkocher und gut funktionierenden Wlan. Das Baan Panwa liegt an einer sehr schönen Bucht,jedoch ist hier das Meer zu flach zum baden. Der nächste Beach liegt etwa 6km entfernt. Das Hotel bietet Leihfahrräder an,jedoch ist aufgrund der recht abgelegenen Lage ein Mietroller/Auto von Vorteil. Während unseres 14 tägigen Aufenthaltes waren durchweg nur wenige Gäste da- oft hatten wir das Gefühl,das Hotel für uns allein zu haben. Wir hatten mit Frühstück gebucht-dieses war fast immer gleich. (2 Spiegel.oder Rühreier,Bacon od.Schinken,2 kl. Würstchen,2 Toast,Marmelade,Margarine,O-Saft und Kaffee) Auf Wünsche wird aber eingegangen.

Låg verkligen i det middle of noway, rummen var sämre än vad man kunde förvänta sig från bilderna. Frukosten tråkig och smaklös. Fin pool. Kommer inte att komma tillbaka.
