What an adorable property! It was just as described, well equipped and the house manual made everything super easy to figure out/find. We visited during mid-October and the fall colors were amazing. It was chilly so the hot tub was perfect after hiking the Porcupine Mountains. Thank you, we will stay here again!
Property owner was very responsive when we had requests. The place is exactly as described.Very homey, plenty of games and DVDs for families. Kitchen had everything needed.
Planned a long weekend getaway for my husband, pup and myself. Hadn't been to this part of the UP before but thought this to be a wonderfully centralized location to a lot of different things while still being in a quite area. The house itself was clean, stocked with anything you could need, and a great place to relax. Trinity was communicative and friendly and had so many accommodations for her place. I would absolutely stay again!
We only used the upsatirs and really liked the house. Very comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Was absolutely in love with the woodsy backyard to a mostly pine forest. Last night we stayed we had a spike buck come with in 30 yrds of us at the campfire. Super cool to finish off our wonderful stay. Sorry though, didnt take any pictures of the back yard
This home was perfect for our family of 3! We originally scheduled it for 3 nights in Sept, but had to reschedule at the last minute due to a family health emergency. The host was very understanding and accommodating and we rescheduled for the end of Oct. We just returned home from our mini vacation and had a fantastic time. The home was clean, spacious and very quiet. We loved the hot tub after doing a lot of hiking. Location was great to the Porkies and nearby restaurants. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay in this house! It was clean, well-stocked (they've thought of just about everything you might need), and very convenient for the Porcupine Mountains State Park. Getting there was easy, and the instructions were clear. If you're looking for "fancy" accommodations, you really won't find them in this area - keep in mind that these are simple houses originally built to house miners and their families. But if you want comfort and convenience, this definitely fits the bill. The hot tub was great! One thing that guests should know is that it takes a long time to heat up from the default temperature. Make sure to read the instructions (in the House Manual, but also available online), and let it heat up at least overnight with the cover on top. Believe me, it's worth it!
At first was apprehensive as always when booking any property especially when I couldn't find on maps but host gave us guidance on directions. Everything was nice and comfortable. The hot tub was nice also even if we didnt use it. We had 2 deer yearling come visit first morning at breakfast and got to see a very fat bear at Konteka which is pretty close by. This a really quite and dark area close to Lake Superior and Porcupine park. It was cool to do star gazing as OMG on a clear night its crazy clear. Looking for Yooper rocks was a hoot at night on Lake Superior beach so bring a good UV light. The only complaint i have if I had one is the pet policies needs to be outlined better on the listing. We would definitely stay here again.
Host was welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The property was a great base from which to explore the U.P. By snowmobile. We are already discussing our next trip back.
For us, this was a launching spot for a winter trip in the Porkies. We appreciated the location and space. The heated garage made it much easier to prepare our camping/trekking gear in the car.
