"This was our first time staying and it was a great experience. So close to town that we walked every time we went. They have a cute coffee/ bar right on premises and even had live music. Room was nice and clean and the little pantry area for snacks, coffee etc was a nice touch. Everything about the property was well thought out and it is very cozy. The staff were all super friendly and we would def stay again. Also had a pizza truck on premises that we didn’t try but they were usually busy. Great old school soft serve ice cream right across street as well. Book this place!"

"The cabin was perfect for me in every way. Close to my conference at Montreat, secluded for me to take care of person medical needs and needed to cook special foods for my surgery recovery. The place was quiet, refreshing, in a nature setting. I loved having a laundry machine as I brought limited clothing due to baggage fees, but I brought the wrong type of clothing.:) You may be advised to print off important information if you phone doesn't well in the mountains of North Carolina. You may have bad reception."
"Nice place. Clean rooms. Quiet area close to downtown Black Mountain NC. Awesome Mexican restaurant across the street and Dollar General within walking distance."
"This is a perfect stay for just a few nights. Simple breakfast with options, and necessities for purchase if you forget something. Staff was average, and rooms are quite small, with no water pressure. Our room was noticeably damp, and smelled like a wet dog. We would stay again if their one suite was available, and we would limit the stay to 2 nights."
walkable to downtown, lake tomahawk, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course

"Shirley is very easy to work with. She is available to give you all the cool information you might need or want about the best places to shop, eat and/or drink. She knows just about everyone in town. She is as charming as her cottage and garden. It was the most relaxing vacation. She gifted me a beautiful bottle of wine my 2nd night there and left me fresh local peaches on day 3. Her and her housekeeper were both attentive but not intrusive. It is my hope that I have the opportunity to travel there again the mountain air and views reminded my soul what is important in life (I'm trying very hard to hold on to that now that I'm back home in the rat race). On her porch swings that all goes away. OBTW - everything in town is within walking distances. The only things I drove to see were the Biltmore, the North Carolina Arboretum (they have free music on Wednesday and Thursdays for the price of entrance) and then the Blue Ridge Parkway as I was heading home. The locals are an amazing lot and not just because they have to be to survive, I think they are just genuinely probably pretty nice in general. I hope you go and meet her and stay at her cottage, meet Sugar her little dog. I almost forgot: I am a birdwatcher and I didn't even have to leave the backyard to get 22 species."
