Wonderful stay
Great place. Wonderful location, really comfortable, hosts are fantastic, and great breakfast. If you are planning a trip to Whitby Rosslyn House is highly recommended.

A warm weekend in Whitby
Rosslyn House is a very comfortable and spotlessly clean B&B run by a very welcoming and friendly couple. The breakfasts we had were superb and set us up for the day. The only negative we had was with the car parking. We arrived in Whitby on a very hot September day and the town was crammed with visitors. There was hardly a parking space to be found anywhere. An on street parking pass is provided by the proprietors but I had to park on a municipal car park overnight and pay. Luckily I found an on street parking spot not too far from the Rosslyn the next day. The Rosslyn is located close to the promenade at West Cliff and only 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

1st class place to stay
Vanessa and Martin made us very welcome.The room and en-suite were imaculately clean.Cake,biscuits tea making in the room.Fridge with water and milk tv etc.The breakfasts were great with a good choice and fresh fruit salad and homemade jams.Would definitely stay here again.Thank you both Jayne and Alan

Great stay at Rosslyn House
My wife and I decided to take a break for couple of days in Whitby. Based on previous reviews we opted to stay at Rosslyn House and we were not disappointed. Lovely room and great location. Breakfast was beautiful to suit all diets. Would definitely stay there again.

Characterful property, lovely breakfast, helpful & friendly hosts. On street parking with residents pass is available but there are several nearby guest houses so would recommend arriving at the property promptly if a very nearby space is required. Several nearby resterants and cafes. View of Whitby abbey from the front door. Convenient for all the sights.

Fresh bottle of milk and water in the mini-fridge, much better for the coffees, also a very handy bottletop remover/corkscrew ! Steep stairs to our room - room 2 - would go for lower rooms next time. Nice to have jars of decaf and ordinary instant coffee - the hosts have put a lot of thought into the details. When we found the room hot, we were given a fan. On balance, excellent

Highly recommend
We stayed at the Roslyn for 3 nights. The room was very clean and comfortable. The personal little touches such as home made cake, daily bottle of fresh milk and water in the fridge all added to the enjoyment. The friendly hosts presented us with a parking permit on arrival to cover the duration of our stay. Location was great only 5 minutes walk into the centre of town. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day.I would highly recommend staying at the Roslyn.

Exceptional Guest House and Hospitality
Having never visited Whitby before we were guided by the exceptional reviews of Rosslyn House and the hospitality given by Martin and Vanessa. We were not disappointed. Our room, albeit up several flights of stairs, was wonderfully clean, large and well stocked with the added bonus of a small fridge (cold water and milk restocked daily) and the most delicious home made chocolate cake left for us. A lovely touch and much appreciated! Having asked for twin beds we were suitably impressed to being given a large super king bed, with the most comfortable mattress we've slept on. The breakfasts MUST be mentioned as 5 star! My personal favourite was the fresh fruit compote, fruit, greek yogurt and muesli (an absolutely delicious starter - and personally made for me on the second morning when I mentioned an allergy to kiwi fruit, one being brought out just for me). A thoughtful touch! The breakfasts themselves consisted of several choices daily on a board and of course my husbands favourite, the full cooked english. He says, absolutely delicious sausages. The B&B is very close to the town and harbour which offers a terrific selection of excellent shops and restaurants, the latter again recommended by Martin prior to our visit, so that we could pre-book during a very busy season. Much appreciated! Cannot recommend this highly enough and many thanks Martin and Vanessa. We wish we'd had one more day!

Ok with a very good breakfast.
5 sets of stairs was a chore for the room in the roof. Also having to choose breakfast the night before & only having a 08.30 - 09.00 was a little restrictive. However, the breakfast was very good. Given the reviews & the price I had expected more.

Had a fabulous 2 night stay, Hosts were very welcoming and attentive, lovely clean room, personal touches made all the difference, lemon drizzle cake, sweets and real coffee maker very welcoming. Breakfast selection was fab, full breakfast hot and varied. Only 5 minute walk to town centre. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Perfect place for the perfect get-away in Whitby
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosslyn House - very comfortable room, impressively wide range of tasty and healthy (hot and cold) options for breakfast, friendly hosts who sent us hugely helpful information about the town in advance and also arranged free car parking nearby. The location is just a short walk (downhill) into town, so everything you want to visit in Whitby is quick and easy to access. The Covid precautions are well-explained in advance, well-organised throughout the premises and very reassuring. We had a great weekend!

We stayed for a 3 night long weekend and were lucky enough to enjoy good weather. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Very good position in the town with eateries and pubs close by. The owners are a great couple, very friendly, full of local knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and will defo stay here again.

Having travelled a fair bit and stayed a variety of hotels and bed breakfasts, I am always wary of ratings I see on platforms or their advertising. As a result this affords me a critical eye when I stay somewhere and I am rarely impressed. Rosslyn House is one of those rare occasions where I was impressed not only when I checked in but also throughout my stay and even during the pre-arrival proccess. Once booked we recieved a text message thanking us for our booking and suggesting places to eat/drink at. We also recieved a message nearer the time following up on a request we made for a late check-in. Then on the day despite checking in out of hours we were greeted by Martin who was polite and very nice. The room itself was lovely and very big and extremely well presented. It was also full of personal touches like a slice of homemade cake for us both and a small jar of assorted sweets. The bed was very comfortable and well positioned in the room. The bathroom although small, did the job and were clean. One thing to note was that the water pressure in the shower was a bit off at key times. However this was likely due to the location of the room in the house and also other rooms using theirs at the same time. The free parking offered is street parking and comes in the form of a pass to stick in your window. This could be tricky during peak times as you may not be able to find a space near, we were lucky and did. The breakfast itself is pre-ordered the night before, which
