"A very large, old beach house. And just wonderful. Cosy fire, amazing views, everything possible available in kitchen. Drove through floods to get there and it was worth it. My little dogs are home and absolutely exhausted from all the great walks."

"The property was beautiful, and the surroundings were stunning. Despite there being other properties it felt very private. A great place to unwind. The dogs were really friendly and so well behaved, they came by each day to play with our dogs and have a cuddle. Host communication was fantastic, they were extremely accomodating and really went the extra mile. Cant recommend this property enough. We'll defintely be back. "
The best area to stay in Whakataki is the town centre, particularly around the main street, Whakataki Road, and the waterfront.
This area is the heart of Whakataki, offering easy access to most of what the town has to offer. You'll find a range of shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as the Whakataki Museum and Art Gallery, all within a short walk. The foreshore promenade, great for a gentle stroll, is also right here.
Couples will find the town centre particularly appealing. The convenience of having dining options and local attractions on your doorstep means more time exploring and less time travelling. Many accommodations here offer lovely views of the harbour or the surrounding hills, adding to a romantic getaway.
For those looking for a quieter stay with scenic views, the properties just a little further along the coast past the main town centre are a great option. These offer a more secluded feel while still being within a short drive of Whakataki's amenities.
