Perched on the shores of Lake Erie, Steelhead Run offers panoramic views of sunsets and a serene atmosphere. This two-bedroom cottage is nestled between the lake and Chautauqua Creek on 7 forested acres, providing ample opportunities for relaxation. With access to the beach in under 200 feet, you can hunt for beach glass or take a stroll along the shoreline to Barcelona Harbor.
Come visit us at Steelhead Run offering panoramic views of the sunsets on Lake Erie. You will find this two-bedroom cottage to be quite comfortable offering all the utility of a smaller home. We have another cottage next door, see VRBO #427161. When you arrive, you will find yourself nestled between Lake Erie and Chautauqua Creek on 7 forested acres. Both features can be accessed in less than a 200-foot walk from the cottage. On the beach you can spend time hunting for beach glass and driftwood, or take the half-mile walk along the beach to Barcelona Harbor area to enjoy a bite to eat, a cocktail, or even purchase a smoked fish at the fish market. Barcelona Harbor also offers a marina and a public launching facility to access Lake Erie. Do you want to go fishing? Take a charter out of the harbor or try and hit the world-renowned Steelhead fishery found in Chautauqua Creek. Don’t worry if Lake Erie is a little too rough on that day for boating. Make a trip to any one of the four inland lakes a short drive from the cottage. Chautauqua Lake is the largest and closest (5mi.) inland lake to the cottage. Chautauqua Lake offers many attractions available by boat that includes, The Chautauqua Institution, Midway Amusement Park, Long Point State Park, shopping, and numerous restaurant/bar establishments. There is truly something for everyone here. Consider a wine tour if you’re looking to venture away from the lake for a bit. Lake Erie Wine Country, located in the largest grape-growing region east of the Rockies, extends roughly 45 miles from Silver Creek, New York to North East, Pennsylvania. At the end of 2011, it has become home to over 26 commercial and estate wineries. Other attractions within arm's reach include Niagara Falls, restaurants, ski resorts, snowmobile trails, nature trails, golf courses, inland lakes, shopping, and a casino, most in less than a 30-mile radius. Additionally, one can find cultural stimulation at Chautauqua Institution. Here you can enjoy their symphony, concerts, speaking venues and theater performances.
As a courtesy to the neighboring cottage, please respect the maximum number of guests in our cottages. We do understand that our guests want to share the experience of Steelhead Run with friends and family. Visitors are certainly welcome, but please limit their numbers to ensure that there is minimal disturbance to the neighbors.
If you are anticipating large group size, please consider reserving both cottages. We have successfully accommodated events such as small family gatherings, church retreats, and even professional photo shoots. Wedding venues are not allowed.
We are located ½ mile from the New York State Thruway (I-90), Exit 60. From here, you will find that it’s a quick ride to and from the Buffalo or Erie International Airports.

Always an amazing stay when you book at Steel Head Run! Nice local town, the Cabins are immaculate, and the Lake with the sunset is breathtaking. I would highly recommend for a bucket list trip, Niagara Falls is not far from there. Jesse from central PA
Great spot on the north east end of Steelhead alley
Cabin is wonderful ,very clean and well stocked. We have stayed here before. It was our 4 th stay in as many years. Nothing but good things to say about the hosts, accommodations and location.
Beautiful, peaceful with amazing Lake Erie views. Super clean, cozy, and well-stocked. Loved the quiet mornings on the porch and great sunsets. Great location and thoughtful hosts. It’s not our first time here and we’ll definitely be back!
We just enjoyed another annual Fall trip with dear friends in the best spot on Lake Erie! The cabin was clean and cozy and everything we could ask for. Dave is a great host! We walk the beach, fish the creek, take drives to all the local shops and have dinner in our favorite places and mostly just enjoy catching up in a beautiful, secluded, quiet little paradise … inside the comfy cabin, on the great front porch or around a great fire watching incredible Lake Erie sunsets. Thank you! See you next time! We are already booked ;)
Came out on a fishing trip and was very pleased. Very nice very clean and well equipped. Might bring my wife out for a long weekend next summer. I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here.
Thanks David and Barbara! Again, the accommodations were amazing, and the views and sunsets were beautiful as always! Can't wait to stay again!
Thank you
Jesse and Jenn.
There is no nicer place to stay on Lake Erie than here! Location, cottage, decor, the way it is stocked, the owners, the town, the view, the lake access- everything is quite literally perfect! So grateful to be able to keep coming back to these two cottages!
Beautifully maintained cabin on Eerie with smooth rock beach. 11/2 hrs to Niagara Falls and 30 min to Longpoint Park. Nice 20 min walk along the river on the property watching locals trout fish. (Club members only)Great sunset. Second cabin and RV spots on property but still felt private.
We absolutely love it here, & what a delightful surprise to find that Dave had remodeled & upgraded the one bed/one bath to two bed/two bath! It is just a gorgeous space, perfect for us. We love the fire pit in the morning, to make a fire & have our coffee & tea out there by the lake. The whole experience is so good, we've already made our reservations for next year. It's one of the highlights of our year!
This property was completely as advertised. Beautiful location and it was absolutely spotless. I unfortunately had to work during the majority of my stay at Steelhead Run but did manage to get out and fish a bit. Thanks Dave and I will be back!
We three friends have been enjoying this cabin for several years now. We're comfortable here, as it is well appointed with amenities and close to both the lake and lots of great places to explore. Upon arrival we were delighted to find an extra beautiful bedroom and bathroom had been added to the cabin, as well as a washer and dryer. The kitchen area was now larger, and together it made for an even more special get-away. Another great week at Lake Erie!
