A good night away

Posted 02-May-2016
Pros: It's position, it's style and the staff
Cons: The price of a Bailey's coffee was very expensive.
The hotel was very close to the railway station and easy to find. Very convenient for the shops, restaurants and the theatre. It is a fine old building that has an elegant and modern interior. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good.

The hotel was clean, the staff was very helpfull. The food was great, I couldn't fault it but the Hotel is situated in the middle of Leeds, the outside traffic was noisey up to 3am. Single glazed windows didn't help.

Helt ok hotell och ok frukost. Gammal byggnad vilket säkert. medför svårigheter att fixa och renovera. Men helt ok för min vistelse.

Ok for a conference

Posted 10-Feb-2016
Pros: The location
Cons: The décor and furnishings
Location: Central
I stayed one night for the purposes of attending a conference in the hotel so it was very convenient. The staff were friendly. I received an upgrade to a superior room which was spacious and my room requests were honoured but the main problem is the age of the hotel and lack of recent renovation. The room was a rather depressing décor with stained items of furniture. The windows are very old sash windows which didn't lock properly and don't screen out any external noise. I had to lift the room door slightly to engage the lock properly. The bed was good though and the room had all necessary amenities. The other problem could be parking. I was lucky to get one of the few underground spaces in the hotel. Otherwise you have to park at the station which would be a security risk walking at night by oneself. The food provided for the conference lunch was very good. In conclusion, needs updating.

Hidden gem of a hotel!

Posted 05-Feb-2016 on Hotels
I got this hotel because it was near the pub where my friend had a birthday party, but it turned out to be a very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Just be aware that parking isn't free. Highly recommended!
