Much of the UK hospitality trade is of a low stand

Posted 08-Jan-2017
Pros: Its positive is that is it quiet and well situated for our purposes. It pretends 4* but should be rated much less say 2*
Cons: Too much to list. Obvious is that the limited parking is very highly priced - if it had been advertise we would not have booked there.
Location: The hotel is not geared for tourists - it does not offer any tourist information beyond a map of Leeds Telling other below N/A
The hotel suffers the plight of much of the UK hospitality trade. Under-trained staff. Badly selected staff who do not relate to the needs of customers. "the Hello Mate" approach dressed badly One walking around with his trouser zip half undone ) is a reflection on the management. Room maintenance that might pass home standards (I'll fix it later') is never acceptable in a place marketing itself to the public. The public are not there to see it fixed 'Later' It is a problem throughout the UK.

Awful room for the price

Posted 28-Nov-2016
I stayed in London the night before and paid less for a much nicer, more spacious room - since when did Leeds warrant such high room rates?! The room was no bigger than a postage stamp with tired facilities, rusting around the bath and rotting external windows. No breakfast included so didn't bother even trying. The hotel bar was cold, lacked atmosphere and ambience.

Convenient and smart hotel

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was convenient for the centre of Leeds and well presented in a historic building. Breakfast was excellent.

Don't bother booking this one.

Awful. Don't bother. The hotel is tired and needs a complete overhaul. The shower didn't work - and reception said "oh sorry". I will not stay here again,

short internal business meeting

Posted 12-Oct-2016 on Wotif
Location: Central location - railway station just couple of minutes, bus/ taxi from the airport just 30min or about, nice restaurants around.
Hotel chosen because of good location, reasonable price for the rooms and meeting room, building with a character. The stay has not been disappointing - quiet rooms, meeting room suited its purpose well, staff was pleasant and helpful, the hotel was clean and charming. Beautiful building, the only sad is that it has been refurnished - loosing a little bit of the old times feel.

Gammelt hotell og passe sentralt men rolig.

OK hotell, rent og god service, men gammel standard på rommene. Ganske sentralt i nærheten av tog og shopping og uteliv i Leeds.

Historic hotel, mix of old and new

Posted 03-Oct-2016
Pros: Location (about a 5 minute walk to central rail station). Staff was helpful.
Cons: 3pm check-in is a bit late...standard is usually 2pm.
Location: central location. Can walk to club scene as well as main shopping areas. Away from the bustle so you will have a peaceful night's sleep.
This hotel was in between a 3-star and 4-star level. I got the single room with double bed. Nice enough. Location is away from the loud bars and nightclubs but walkable to those if you wanted to hit those at night. Bathroom was pretty fancy and large.
