Overall, we had a great stay! This property is conveniently located about 10-15 miles from the West Yellowstone entrance, with plenty of amenities like gas stations and restaurants nearby. The only drawbacks were the single, small bathroom and the overgrown weeds and tall grasses surrounding the property. Some landscaping would have definitely improved our experience.
We really liked the location, near the west entrance of Yellowstone park, but on a quiet street. The property manager responded right away the few times we needed something.
Only giving 4 starts because we had little WiFi access our entire stay. It was very spotty and didn’t connect most of the time.
This cabin was perfect for our family! It was a great homebase after our outings and a nice place on our relaxed day. Close enough to West Yellowstone and the west enterance to Yellowstone, but far enough away that we could enjoy the quiet and nature. We would definitely stay here again!
The only negatives we encountered were out of anyones control- 1) the first night we were there it rained the whole evening, and because of that (we assumed), the internet couldnt keep up with streaming on the tv. We tried rebooting the router, that didnt work. Every other day/night, internet speeds were as expected. 2)The bathroom was on the small side. It wasnt unusable by any means, and it worked for us- however just a heads up for someone larger, or above average weight wise.
We had 5 people of various ages staying and we all enjoyed the house. It was a quiet neighborhood and pretty. The kitchen was well stocked. Great experience!
This cabin was perfect for our Yellowstone family vacation! The cabin was nice and tidy and sat right on the edge of the Gallatin National Forest and was just minutes to the Yellowstone west entrance. This was the best vacation ever!

Great place to stay
This is the home to stay in if you are visiting Yellowstone. It's in a great location on the outskirts of West Yellowstone in a quiet residential area, with wilderness and wildlife all around.
The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you will need for a very enjoyable stay. You can look out of the windows at the back of the property and see straight in to the forest, you get visited by all manner of wildlife.
Highly recommended home and hosts
The property was perfect for my family of four (2 kids/wife). Only 15 minutes to Yellowstone West entrance. Great to be able to shower, do laundry, cook a nice dinner, and relax after driving around and staying in hotels all week. Owner was very responsive. Place was very clean/COVID-friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent lodge. Clean and very comfortable. It was more spacious than expected.
The lodge had everything we needed. It was perfect to come back to after a day in Yellowstone. Extremely comfortable beds. The kids loved the loft area.
If I have to say anything at all negative (which it really isn't) is that we couldn't understand why the outside trash bin was so far away from the property when there was one at the end if the driveway.
This was definitely one of our favourite vacation rentals we have stayed in and would highly recommend it.

Perfect location
I use VRBO a lot. This us one of the few places that I would return to...over and over. Perfect layout. Bigger than I thought it would be or what puctures show. Lots of towels and soaps and bathroom needs. Privacy at end of the road. Quiet neighbors. Wildlife around. Comfortable beds. Near park entrance. What more could you want?
Imagine the joy of pulling up to the last house on a quiet dirt road, completely secluded from neighbors and surrounded by an Aspen grove? In summer, imagine opening all the windows to feel the breeze and the rustle of leaves bathed in bright sunshine? And also imagine the delight of resting your head each night on a king size memory foam mattress that quite possibly is nicer than your own bed at home. Yep, that pretty much sums up this cabin in the woods. How could you possibly want a tent or an RV after this?

Great Vacation!! Secluded But Not!
This was an amazing home in the woods but only 20 minutes from the entrance of the park. We headed out everyday and found a fox or deer in our property for the week. We ere there 7 days and I wish we could of stayed longer. The cabin was very cozy. We BBQ outside and admired the millions of stars in the sky! The owners were great in returning our calls regarding the home and places to eat. We enjoyed cooking at home and enjoying the quiet!
There is a horse riding place on the same side of the street as the property, where they do rodeos and the staff is super nice Crystal was Awesome! Yellowstone is a beautiful park. A must see!
If I go back, we are definitely staying there again!

Great Place to Stay for Yellowstone
The family was very pleased with this cabin on our recent Yellowstone trip. The description and pictures are accurate (though the address listed in the ad was nowhere close to right; so pay attention to the direction you receive from HomeAway). It is a quiet spot away from highways. Other cabins are nearby, but you don't feel cramped.
Everything we needed was at the house--the kitchen was well stocked; the tv worked; the washer and dryer were nice units; the Internet was adequate for very basic needs; the beds were comfortable (2 kings--nice!) and the pull-out had a memory foam mattress so it was actually usable. It is located a few miles to town and the entrance to Yellowstone. West Yellowstone is a nice little town with everything you'll need (gas, groceries, restaurants, t-shirt shops, etc...).
I would recommend the Aspen House to others.

Log charm
Lovely log home with lots of charm. Set back at end of the road in the woods.. we watched the deer walk by. Few issues with the house except a Tiny shower, very difficult to wash up in, overall the house is in very good condition. Odd that we were instructed to strip the beds and start the wash, dump the trash before we left. Not a fan of that at all. What did I pay the cleaning service fee for? That will keep me from renting this property again.
My wife and I took our first trip to Yellowstone and had an amazing trip. The location of the house was exactly what we were looking for with great views and close to town. Would highly recommend The Aspen house for anyone looking for a secluded property with a great homey vibe.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication
Cleanliness/communication
The property, itself, is very nice. The furniture is made of beautiful, sturdy wood and the atmosphere of the cabin is warming.
The things that will deter me from staying here on my next vacation are the following..the front of the refrigerator was filthy. It looked like someone splashed food on it and there were white fingerprints (like someone played in pancake batter and opened the fridge). There was no disinfectant spray or clorox wipes to clean it with so we used soap and water. The microwave was filthy on the outside as well as the inside. All of the silverware in the drawer had to be soaked in hot water before being run through the dishwasher to clean it thoroughly. We went to make fried eggs one morning and the skillet we were going to use was not clean and the carpets were not vacuumed before we got there.
I did try to inform the owners about the cleanliness issues before writing this review, but noone returned my call. I felt that if they were paying someone to clean for them that they should know they were being ripped off. The cabin is pretty expensive per night and for that I expected pristine living accommodations, not having to clean before staying!
