Our check-in was fast and easy. I paid an additional fee to upgrade our standard room to the Harriet suite, to celebrate our engagement the day we checked in. The hotel smell amazing, like a spa, upon entering and is clean. The elevator carpet is dirty and smells like a musty locker room. This needs to be cleaned. The Harriet Suite is large, elegant and beautiful. The bed and pillows comfortable. The only few things I would recommend is: a matras protector before placement of the fitted sheets. The glass protectors on the bedside tables and coffee table needs to be cleaned on both sides as it looks dirty and full of smudges and finger prints. Crumbs and dust underneath. And there was empty drinking cups underneath the loveseat and chairs from previous guests, which begs the question as to how often it is cleaned underneath. These small things would make it 5 star. We’ve stayed here multiple times since this hotel originally opened. A little something to help us celebrate our engagement (card in the room, something) would have been a nice touch by the hotel. As they were aware of it. But alas nothing.

The staff seemed ill trained in public relations. To enter, one walks through a cloud of smoke from the cleaning staff. While checking in, the clerk maintained a conversation complaining about the lack of work ethic in other employees. The room was surprisingly quiet which was great given the neighborhood. The freezer in our fridge didn't work because there was too much ice buildup. The AC worked well, which I was grateful given the high temperature. The water there tasted terrible. The shower was just hot enough. Staff yelling up and down the halls was surprising.

A mixed bag is what I can say. Some of the bathroom fixtures were either broken or absent. If not for some cool policies of this hotel, I would have given 3 stars - one extra star for the all day free yogurt/ fruits stand and the overall helping nature of the staff The walls were not so sound proof and shock proof. My next door neigbor's bed headboard and ours shared the same wall. The neighbor guest was having some good time with partner in the middle of the night, because of which for about 20 minutes our headboard was being pushed, at rhythmic intervals. Luckily our kids we sleeping on the other bed and did not feel this bedquake :-)
