The location of the hotel is perfect, free parking is the best.
Tanya at the main desk was very helpful and reassuring that all our needs would be taken care of which they were. The location was right across the road from their sister hotel (Kilmorey), which had beachfront on Upper Waterton Lake with excellent access and views. A paid breakfast was good at Kilmorey, but free breakfast would have been even better.
I had a superior room. Was lovely. Beds so comfy. The floors were a bit separating, but totally understand that the Lodge is old. It did not affect my stay in any way. All of the staff I interacted with were pleasant and made you feel you welcome. Parking right out front, top notch. Kitchen was just enough.
The floor above (I was on the ground floor), creaked a bit when the person moved around, but not bothersome at all.
Will be back next year.

Old world, Swiss feel. Outside was in need of some repair. It was not overly well-maintained. The inside was great. It was clean and the room had a really cool look/feel to it. It was just the outside. It needs work. I almost had to go back to the receptionist (who is across the road at a “sister” hotel. They operate both) to help me get the door unlocked. It was beat up enough that I really struggled to get it open.
This place is perfectly located in town. It has easy parking and you can easily walk into town. However, the property is a little old and is dark. I like a light airy room, so I don't love the darkness of the room. We jad the Bear den and there's is a big bath tub in the corner of the room. I think that corner could be more useful as a small kitchenette instead.
Very clean and accommodating room after a rainy and cold few nights camping prior! The complementary tea and coffee was very nice as well. Not a fancy place but a cozy one!
No air conditioning. No elevator.
The carpets in stairways and hallways are extremely stained and worn. Normally we would have walked away. The room itself was modern and clean. Bathroom mirror was too high for most women.

The room was nicer than expected, updated and decorated nicely. It was great to have a full kitchenette and a deck out front to lounge on. The bad - no sound proofing and we were on the lower level. We were on the lower level and the people upstairs were walking around (in a small hotel room?) until 1230am - I actually had to bang on the wall a couple times. And the 90's called and wants their hard-as-a-rock mattress back.
The staff are excellent and accommodated an early check-in for us. Room was clean and the King size bed was comfortable.. The room was small and I don’t think I would want to stay more than a couple of nights there but it had what we needed and was very close to town. Additionally, there are a lot of friendly deer in the neighborhood which made it very entertaining at times. Parking was also easy and plentiful, at least when we were there.
It was also a very short drive to most of the hiking trails that we wanted to get to. I would recommend this hotel to others with similar interests.
We had a great room with a comfortable bed and well resourced with good toiletries and extras like cookies and mint tea. The front porch is pretty worn and the outside could do with a tidy up but we were very happy with the condition of our room. Check in was over the road at another hotel but that was easy. I recommend this place and the price was good.
The biggest issue with the room is the small size!
It also has no air conditioning, which is the same as much of the Waterton lodging. All we had was a small open window, a ceiling fan, and a small fan to the side of the bed on a day that the high was 97 degrees Fahrenheit, which made for an uncomfortable night sleep.
This room has been upgraded with very noticeable and welcome improvements. I carefully examined the floors, bathroom (with shower), fridge, microwave, counter tops, coffee maker, and linens and all was VERY clean.
The room was quiet in the night only because the other guests were quiet. The walls are definitely NOT soundproof.
Parking was very good. I would stay there again only with lower than average pricing to others in Waterton.
