Not my type of place
House was in good shape, very clean & bed was comfortable. However ... there was no front desk so I called when I got there & owner did answer but almost took attitude with me saying he had emailed me, which I found out later he did but at 8:58 that morning, so we were already on the road. No big deal as all information was given & we got inside no issues. Listing states "Private Bathroom" & while we didn't see another person the whole time we were there, the bathroom was across the Hall. Also, the "Shower" that was listed is a handheld wand in a claw foot bathtub with NO shower curtain! The "Free Continental Breakfast" in the listing was Prepackaged Muffins left on our dresser. Also it was stated separate sitting area & there were random chairs around the room but not a good place to sit & relax to watch TV. So both Good & Bad, I will not stay here again nor would I recommend it to friends. This guy has LOTS of antiques, actually too many for my liking, house seemed cluttered.

Sorry my home was not what you were expecting it is a private home and there’s no front desk I have self check in and that clearly is stated in the listing I started this during Covid when I could not meet people. Also stated in the listing it said there was a private bath across the hall with a clawfoot tub and a handheld shower. However I do have another room which is half again as much that has a shower two room suite with a TV sitting area. Did you booked the least expensive room I have available that’s why it’s that price! The room $75 a night with a continental breakfast coffee is in your room along with a mini refrigerator. My listing also says I have an antique store so being a owner of an antique store I have lots of antiques. I think the whole problem lies with the fact that you did not read what you were buying into if you would’ve you were contacted me like you were supposed to before coming

Nice stay. We only stayed one night as we were on a road trip. Owner super nice and room was big and clean. Beautiful house. We went to Main Street and had a great time in Waterloo.

Beautiful Home
A nice change of pace and a beautiful home. The host, Mr. Hart (Brian) was very friendly and accommodating. I walked to the downtown business area which is only a half of a mile away.

I am very pleased with the service provided by the Hart Estate - we changed our stay from Friday to Saturday and Mr. Hart was very accomodating!!!! I will recommend this B & B to all my friends and family.

The bed could use an update, but everything was clean and love the old time feel of the decor and house. Reminded me of my stays at my grandma's house :)

Memorable
An amazing home filled with incredible museum quality antiques. Far quieter than staying in a normal hotel. While you have a dedicated bathroom, you must leave your room to get to it, so a cover-up will make most travelers more comfortable. And, to be clear, it is a bathtub with a shower nozzle and no shower curtain, so keep that on mind. Brian is very hospitable and is a wealth of knowledge. One thing is certain. In five years you won't remember your stay at a chain motel, but you absolutely will remember this.

Exquisite old world charm
Brian is a charming host and his knowledge of the local area is wonderful. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. At the end of a hard day a long soak in a claw foot bathtub was divine.

Loved this Bed and Breakfast!
This is a bed and breakfast with tons of character, beautiful decor and a friendly host. We thoroughly enjoyed our night there, and the bed was likely the most comfortable one I can recall. We would definitely go back!

1st time staying at a B&B, wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but it worked out nice. The owner was very welcoming, place was clean, and well decorated. The only thing I didnt like was there wasn't an available wall outlet, I had to unplug the lamp, and the outlet was behind the headboard, inorder to charge my device.

Great B&B
We were in Waterloo for my aunts funeral so we didn't get to spend much time at Hart, however, I would highly recommend it. Mr Hart is very gracious and serves an amazing breakfast. Our room was very comfortable. The antiques he has are incredible.
