Weekend get-a-way to DC
This is an average hotel that has a new coat of paint and new carpet; in my opinion this is not a hotel worthy of VIP status. If you are an Expedia Gold member, find a different hotel. No upgrade, no parking vouchers, no breakfast vouchers - which is fine because after looking at the food/menu I wouldn't have use them anyway, no upgraded internet, and no coffee shop in the hotel - no biggie if you are dressed, you can walk across the street to Starbucks. It was a 3 star hotel at best. The rooms were recently remodeled; our room we had to jimmy rig the plug around the entertainment center to get our fridge to plug into an outlet, the handle on the shower faucet kept falling off, the heater barely blew any warm air - we had our room at 80 and it still felt cold, and there was no coffee machine in the room. The location is great if you want to be close to the Capital, Union Station, Botanical Gardens, and Library of Congress. You can't beat the location as it is quieter than staying closer to the Mall, but for what you are going to spend, look somewhere else.
