Location, Location, Location

Posted 16-May-2017
Pros: Location and the style plus cleanliness.
Location: Pennsylvania Ave Capital to White House is within walking distance and plenty of restaurants of different types around hotel
Every thing was very delightful. We were very impressed with the highest quality of all the furnishings and decor detail in our room.

Great Location, perfect place to stay!

Posted 11-May-2017
Pros: Close to attractions, walking distance to most everything, very convenient.
Cons: pricing on overnight parking is a whopping $54 - way too much. We moved the car to Union Station (10 min walk) and saved $28 per night.
Location: EVERYTHING is close by.
Was there for business and a little sightseeing. Great location, clean rooms well appointed (great carpeting).

Pros: It's location; friendliness of staff
The hotel was located close to the Mall and the museums; the staff was very friendly and continued parking for hours after checkout proved convenient

Excellent location and great staff!

Posted 01-May-2017
Pros: Completely different atmosphere from the hotel on the next block that was much louder and not nearly as peaceful. Lovely hotel, great environment.
Cons: A business center would be nice.
Location: About three blocks from Union Station and walking distance to Capitol, Library of Congress, Capitol, and Supreme Court, Starbucks, and restaurants.
The staff at the front desk were great. Alain is just filled with wonderful information and has a great disposition. A bit disappointed the hotel did not have a business center, but the restaurant was decent as was room service. Comfortable hotel that was quiet.

My wife had a strong allergic reaction to (we assume) a cleaning product being used and we had to change hotels on the fly. Unfortunately, the hotel staff was unable to help us relocate, nor would they discuss any refund as the manager to do so was not there nor reachable (??). Very disappointing.

Weekend get-a-way to DC

Posted 22-Apr-2017
Pros: The location.
Location: Union Station, The Capital, Library of Congress, Botanical Gardens, The Mall, The White House
This is an average hotel that has a new coat of paint and new carpet; in my opinion this is not a hotel worthy of VIP status. If you are an Expedia Gold member, find a different hotel. No upgrade, no parking vouchers, no breakfast vouchers - which is fine because after looking at the food/menu I wouldn't have use them anyway, no upgraded internet, and no coffee shop in the hotel - no biggie if you are dressed, you can walk across the street to Starbucks. It was a 3 star hotel at best. The rooms were recently remodeled; our room we had to jimmy rig the plug around the entertainment center to get our fridge to plug into an outlet, the handle on the shower faucet kept falling off, the heater barely blew any warm air - we had our room at 80 and it still felt cold, and there was no coffee machine in the room. The location is great if you want to be close to the Capital, Union Station, Botanical Gardens, and Library of Congress. You can't beat the location as it is quieter than staying closer to the Mall, but for what you are going to spend, look somewhere else.

Front desk staff had no idea what Expedia VIP+ is

Posted 21-Apr-2017
Pros: Location and room furnishings.
Cons: Pillows and (night-time) front desk staff. Morning front-desk staff at check-out were much better.
Location: Close to Union Station.
Front-desk staff who checked me in were disinterested, offered no VIP+ amenity, and when asked if there was any sort of upgrade or other amenity available to Expedia Gold members, they obviously had no idea what I was talking about and no interest in asking anybody else who worked there. I make a point of trying to book properties listed as VIP+ Access because they usual go a little further to ensure a comfortable stay. Next time I'm in DC I'll remember that despite the VIP+ Access symbol next to the listing for this property, they really don't qualify for it. Otherwise the property was clean, in pretty good condition, and well located for my needs. Needs better quality pillows but otherwise bed and room furnishings were nice.

Very nice business level hotel.

Posted 21-Apr-2017
Pros: Location, comfort and amenities
Cons: Attitude of a couple front desk staff.
Location: Location is very convenient. Walmart 3 blocks away and few good restaurants.
Hotel was very modern and clean. Nice amenities. The front desk woman who checked me in could have been friendlier, it seemed like a chore for her. The valet guys were great! The bar and restaurant folks were awesome! The cleaning staff was very friendly!

Nice conservative hotel near the Natuon's capital

Posted 18-Apr-2017
This hotel was very nice and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful especially with directions on navigating the city. The only pitfall was the $54/night valet parking. I wish there was a free parking lot. I also wish there was a pool in the hotel, but those aren't true compliants. Would recommend to others just be sure to plan for the valet parking
