I loved the sea facing room which was immaculate, well decorated and so very comfortable. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was excellent!

Great hotel
Nice modern hotel, plenty of space in the room and at a wonderful spot right at the beach. Friendly staff. Everything was great except two (minor things). I had hair in the shower and the sink from the guest before me and the service in main Restaurant was once very unattentive. After 25min of no service I left (there were only 3 tables occupied).

A lovely hotel located right on the water. Beautiful, large rooms, great restaurants and within walking distance to the main street and beach. My only comment is that I wish the onsite restaurants did not use so much so single-use plastic unnecessarily. Ie. Butter, water and draws.

You'll be pleased to know that we are moving towards biodegradeable hemp plastic water bottles in the new year, and also that the straws that we use in the hotel, while they may look plastic, are in fact biodegradable, as they are made from corn husks, and break down within 120 days. Location and very comfortable bed. The restaurant services need improving, and the breakfast area needs to look cleaner. I sat at a table for breakfast and then realized that there was food under my feet and had to change my table. However, when I pointed that out to the staff, no one made an attempt to clean the floor.

Excellent place to stay in Swakopmond
A lovely hotel. Comfortable, modern rooms. Everywhere in the hotel was immaculate. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The restaurants were very good. Lots more to do in Swakopmond than we anticipated and we had a great time.

Rooms were too much too small
We arrived from South Africa with the normal complement of 2 large suitcases and 2 smaller suitcases and the really was insufficient room. We had ordered a deluxe room and expected more. Initially we found the reception staff and one in particular rather offhand but a lady member of that staff in particular went to a great deal of effort to arrange a trip to Sandwich Bay and that was very much appreciated. We felt the reception staff must be overworked as they seemed unable to ever answer the telephone when we called from our room without either a lengthy delay or no answer at all. It was usually quicker to call room service and for them to find someone but it was not room service we required

The Strand Hotel is well situated in Swakopmund. It was easy to walk to nearby coffee shops and restaurants, as well as a grocery store. This is also a beach right outside for those who wish to spend a few hours relaxing by the ocean. The hotel staff were friendly and facilitated an early check in, which was greatly appreciated. The restaurants at the hotel had friendly wait staff and the food was good (nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about). However, the service was often slow especially when it came time to settle the bill.
