"Darren, the homeowner and innkeeper, met us at the door to this lovely home/inn. He welcomed us with a smile and conversation about the history behind Sassafras Inn and Mena, We sat and visited for about an hour. Our suite was extremely large, (2 rooms), complete with coffee and refrigerator. He then provided us with his homemade, organic blueberry muffins that were to die for. Very cozy atmosphere and a soft bed was just the remedy for a long day in the road. Highly recommend this wonderful place. Will stay again!!"

"This place was amazing! The view will blow you away. The entire back side of the house is windows, allowing you to view the river the house sits on anytime you want. Or you can sit on the deck, lay on the hammock, listen to music and relax to the sounds of the river and nature around you. We'll definitely be going back"

"We stayed 1 night in this unit at the historic Shaver House in Mena, AR. It was super cute and great for a 1-night stay. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious - especially warmed up a little in the microwave! The unit is in a shed-type building in the backyard of this restored historic home. It is essentially a bedroom (with a microwave, minifridge, coffeemaker and TV) and a bathroom. There is not a lot of room to move around inside the shed. The outside area is fantastic - a big fire pit, seating, and hammocks. But I think it is a stretch to describe this unit as a "farmhouse cottage"."

"Room and Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast could have been better. Not alot of choices for hot food. Biscuits and gravy would be nice addition. Lady working in breakfast area was snippy. "

"I really enjoyed this B&B for my one night stay. The bed and rooms were very comfortable, and i was able to watch TV and get access to the WiFi. John was very welcoming and made a great omelet breakfast for me too."

"Stay was awesome. Only had one issue and that was when the big storm blew through there was a slight leak from the roof that was above the couch across from the TV. Maybe a Table spoon of water"
