Beautiful property, individual thatched-roof homes feel very authentic and very much vacation vibe.
The restaurants are good (there are three - the Moana main restaurant, then two beach restaurants) but the cocktails were inconsistent. The breakfast buffet is excellent but expensive at $60. The water sports are limited.
The front desk service was also inconsistent - a long check-in experience but then very helpful during the stay.
Two beautiful pools. Gorgeous property. Excellent spa with great massage and plunge pool (hot and cold). Spa access is free even without a treatment
Careful when you book to note if your room is ocean view or ocean front.
And note that there is a $95 per room per day resort fee

"This was a great house for our family vacation. The house is beautiful, spacious kitchen where we cooked meals together. The kitchen had nearly everything needed. We enjoyed the pool so much. The location was close to downtown Hilo making it very convenient. June was a pleasure to work with."

"We had a great stay while getting our daughter settled at UH Hilo. The location was perfect for us - close to Hilo, with a beautiful view of Honoliʻi Beach, but still quiet and peaceful. With the house looking out over the ocean and the redwood interior, it almost felt like we might sail out to sea! ..."
