It's true that there is a proposed ban on some short-term rentals. That bill has not yet become law, and even if it does, it would not go into effect for our property until 2031\. In the meantime, Maui is open and ready for business. We are ready to welcome you with a spirit of Aloha!\*\* Crew Rest Maui is a hidden gem at the north end of Ma'alaea Bay in South Maui. Our privately owned two bedroom, two bathroom beachfront 'home away from home' is a corner unit on the second floor of a four-story building directly at the water's edge. Our private lanai is directly oceanfront and looks across to neighboring Islands, the world-famous Molokini crater, and 10,000 foot Haleakala. It provides the perfect place to relax, watch the waves, and even see humpback whales during whale season. There are HUGE benefits to a corner unit on the second floor, and it's important to understand WHY the location of the unit in the complex makes such a huge difference. Corner units offer: the added security of not being at ground level, the privacy of having bedroom windows looking out on the beautiful courtyard, pool and ocean instead of sidewalk and parking lot and the absence of foot traffic past your private lanai. (Before booking in Kanai a Nalu, understand that the guest bedrooms of non-corner units look out onto the parking lot. Our guest bedroom has a FULL view of the ocean and pool area.) The master bedroom has a comfortable King-size bed with a private bathroom and wall-to-wall windows with panoramic views of the beach, gardens, and pool/BBQ area. A second full bathroom with shower/tub combo is across a small alcove from the second bedroom, which has a queen bed. There's also a Queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. It has an upgraded, memory foam mattress and is extremely comfortable. Our condo can sleep up to 6 guests. We have gone above and beyond to provide you the little touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible and make Crew Rest Maui feel like your home away from home. You'll enjoy updated decor, ceiling fans throughout, and A/C in every single room. There are plenty of plush beach towels, some dish/laundry soap to get you started, beach toys and boogie boards, liquid hand soap in the bathrooms, velvet non-slip hangers, Keurig coffee maker, keyless entry keypad, secure WiFi, and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you'll need. The living room features a smart, flat screen, wall-mounted TV with cable. Both bedrooms feature wall-mounted smart TVs with cable access as well as the ability to login to your favorite streaming service. The private lanai is one of the best features of our unit. Again, it is DIRECTLY on the water, and not all units in the complex have such an amazing location and views. The lanai is a perfect place for reading, eating, whale watching or just plain relaxing to the sound of the gentle surf. You'll enjoy watching sea turtles (and whales during whale season) directly offshore from the lanai. Just down the street from the condo, you'll find the core of Maalaea and the harbor area. This adorable seaside village offers a wide variety of activities such as snorkeling excursions and sunset cruises, shopping, delicious dining options, mini golf, an aquarium, and the Pacific Whale Foundation. The central location of Crew Rest Maui is ideal for exploring all of Maui. You're just 15 minutes from the airport, 25 minutes from the North Shore, 10 minutes from Kihei, 20 minutes from Lahaina, and 5 miles or less from several golf course options. Our favorite aspect of the Kanai a Nalu complex is the quiet, laid back feel. If you like the hustle and bustle of crowded resorts where you sleep in a cramped hotel room and share a beach and pool with hundreds of people while enjoying a $20 cocktail and $30 cheeseburger, this is not the place for you. The 2 bedroom/2 bath unit worked well for our family. The lanai was enjoyed morning, noon, and night. Listening to the waves of the Pacific crashing on shore, and seeing whales surfacing was a treat. Condo location is convenient to many restaurants and anything else you need. Comfortable beds and lots of supplies provided including beach chairs and snorkeling gear, water shoes and too many other items to name. Nice beach area within walking distance at the end of the road. Only issue was parking was tight due to many spots were blocked off at the time for some reason ##### Lora S. The condo was well furnished with extra amenities like enough coffee pods to get started, condiments in the fridge and spices in the cupboard. Quiet neighborhood. Beach within walking distance. Fully equipped with everything you need for the beach. Loved the fact that beach chairs and boogie boards were there. Rooms were super. Great view and nice breeze. The condo had air conditioning but we didn’t need it. If we return to Maui in the future we will definitely try to stay in this condo again. Oh I forgot to mention whale activity can be spotted anytime in daylight hours. We had a fabulous stay here. The ocean is right off the lanai. We ate every breakfast here and several dinners. The kitchen was well stocked to cook meals. The location is great. We enjoyed being in a quiet area away from the crowded resorts. The central location makes it easy to get to all areas of the island. The unit had a/c but the trade winds blow reliably and kept the unit pleasant with the windows open to hear the ocean. We had an issue with a ceiling fan that was fixed promptly. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Couldn’t imagine a better place to stay here. ##### David C. I could hear the waves crashing all night from the master bedroom. Iys a great central location for those who want to visit all of the island by car. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if u like to walk everywhere bc there’s not a whole lot walking distance but I loved the location & the condo. Stephanie was easy to get a hold of when I had a question. We truly loved staying here & plan to again! ##### April R. Day 1 through day 12 was nothing less than perfect! Listening to the waves crash right outside our window was wonderful. The condo was the perfect size for 4 adults. We walked to Haycraft Beach almost everyday with ease. This was actually one of our favorite beaches we visited. We were centrally located and never felt we were to far from anything we wanted to do! We will definitely The corner unit was a plus. Unfortunately, 2 days before we left, they cut down 3 palm trees in front of the condo but it’s still a beautiful view! ##### Michelle K. Thank you for being wonderfully hospitable hosts with prompt communication, fully stocked beach gear, and offering many local recommendations to make our stay in Maui so delightful. They even left a thoughtful welcome gift! The location of the accommodation is in close proximity to the beach and in a quiet, less-commercialized area. Crew Rest was a haven in the midst of the wildfires. Our prayers and hearts go out to the amazing people here pressing on and rebuilding from the devastation. The condo had everything we needed. We saw turtles everyday, used the grills down by the pool, walked to the beach, and listened to the waves at night. The bed in the master suite was very comfortable. We were close to the harbor where we boarded the boat for a sunset dinner cruise one night, also where we boarded for snorkeling the next day.
