"The cabin was very nice and well appointed. The bathroom was luxurious with a beautiful tub and nice shower. The beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time."

"This place had everything going for it. It would have been perfect if it wasn't for the host not getting back to us when we phoned and left them a message.The instructions said the master key was in the lock box which is was, and that there would be another set in the fruit bowl so use and leave the master key in the lock box. There were not keys in the fruit bowl so we would have had a problem if we lost the keys.The TV remote was not there. We rang within office hours (according to the answerphone message) and left a message on the Friday afternoon but did not hear back at all. Saturday was supposedly office hours as well. While we were extremely disappointed not to be able to watch TV, the fact that the host did not get back to us was unacceptable. We know they couldn't just produce a remote but they should at least have replied to our message."

"Excellent location located in the heart of the Coromandel Penninsula, 1.5hr drive for Hahei where Cathedral Cove is located. There is more to do here and the accommodation is walkable to town. If I were to return to Coromandel for a future visit, this is where I would stay."

"Just lovely... A quiet and unique little spot, perfect for a romantic getaway that still provides incredibly close access to the beautiful Coromandel town, all the while maintaining its rural charm.Shane was a very pleasant host and went out of his way to explain where everything was, as a safety conscious professional I was pleased to see ready access to first aid and fire safety devices, a thing oft forgotten.We were provided with some delicious freshly squeezed orange juice from one of Shane's many fruit trees which quickly became an afternoon mimosa (yum). A wealth of knowledge on the local area (and beyond), even to the point of providing his own very concise guidebook and review of local attractions which we quickly put to use.The facilities are as you would expect for a lightly renovated 100 year old mining cottage, which suited us just fine, personally I'm quite the fan of outdoor showers. My only criticism is that the bed and couch could do with an upgrade.Overall we'd happily stay again and maybe then I can finally befriend the cat.- James & Jen "
