Beautiful location, gorgeous view, children surfed everyday. We loved it! ##### Tara S. The location was more remote than expected and this should be emphasised more on website. We enjoyed the beach area of an evening but there wasn’t anywhere around the house to sit outside other than the roof terrace which was nice but would have liked a bbq area. Some of the facilities were dated, we couldn’t use the oven as it just filled the house with smoke - kitchen needs updating. The master bed was really comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Shame the two single beds weren’t as comfortable. There were lots of cobwebs which suggested the house hadn’t been cleaned as well as expected. Hamper on arrival was a nice touch. All in all we had a lovely relaxing time at Schoopers it was just what the Doctor ordered following a family bereavement. Thank you for sharing your family home. ##### Verified traveller This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### simon D., Cardiff U.K. 3 Sept 2021 #### Wonderful spot Schoopers is in a wonderful spot, there were a few niggles, there was no BBQ, I bought one and left it there for others, and most holiday homes I have been to leave supplies, washing up liquid, etc etc, there was only enough for one night at Schoopers. It DID imply this in the details but I think it should be clear. It is not a problem, you just need to know so you bring your own, The dishwasher broke down after a few days, Cornwall Hideaways did respond quickly but could not fix it as it was a new machine so we were without. The visitors guide was confusing, it had not been updated for a long time, wrong rental company information, wrong telephone numbers and confusing instructions regarding bins! The property itself is in a wonderful site, the long gardens down to the estuary were a children's paradise, and we had fantastic BBQs on the beach. At low water there was great sand banks to roam over, which again the children loved. It is safe to do so for 90 minutes before and after low water, then the water to the beach becomes deep very quickly with a fast current. The beaches nearby were lovely and a Michelin star restaurant in Rock. This may sound negative, I hope not, The best recommendation i can give....we have already booked Schoopers for next year ##### simon D. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Verified traveller 26 Aug 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Holiday We loved staying here the views and beach were wonderful. ##### Verified traveller Stayed 14 nights in Jul 2021 This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 6/10 Okay 17 Oct 2019 #### Poor standard of accommodation Very poor accommodation in need of a complete update. Pervading damp smell. Flies were a huge problem. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Philippa D., U.K. 12 Sept 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Schoopers We loved our stay at Schoopers. The private beach and wooded area were a highlight for us. Lots of kayaking and a beach BBQ. The house was a little dated especially the kitchen. We loved the welcome hamper and White Company products - a very thoughtful touch. We will definitely come back! Thank you. ##### Philippa D. We had a wonderful week at Schoopers. It has a "Swallows and Amazons' feel with a secret path through the woods to the beach/estuary. Sailing, kayaking and bonfires on the beach add to the sense of outdoor adventure. Its secluded position means that all you hear are birdsong and the distant drone of speed boats pulling waterskiers on the estuary. The house itself has character and amazing views. Some areas are a bit dated but comfortable and it has everything you need including a useful hose/washing line to wash down and hang up wetsuits. It is a short drive to Polzeath for surfing/body boarding and a 20 minute walk to Rock Village (great baker and butcher) via the road or a lovely 25 minute walk along the beach to Rock Waterfront/pubs/restaurants when the tide is out. ##### Nicole D. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-DoubleTree-By-Hilton-Hotel-And-Spa-Chester.h527788.Hotel-Information) > > [Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Grosvenor-Pulford-Hotel-Spa.h790572.Hotel-Information) > > [Molesworth Manor](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Wadebridge-Hotels-Molesworth-Manor.h4878364.Hotel-Information) > > [5* Detached Stone Cottage with a Private Indoor Pool (Not Shared)](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashbourne-Hotels-5-Detached-Stone-Cottage-With-A-Private-Indoor-Pool.h31752210.Hotel-Information) > > [DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham-Cotswolds](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Doubletree-By-Hilton-Cheltenham.h65899.Hotel-Information) > > [ibis budget Manchester Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Ibis-Budget-Manchester-Airport.h75715089.Hotel-Information) > > [St Moritz Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Wadebridge-Hotels-St-Moritz-Hotel.h2233730.Hotel-Information) > > [Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cambridge-Hotels-Cambridge-Belfry.h1103020.Hotel-Information) > > [Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Leeds-Hotels-Oulton-Hall-Hotel.h15948.Hotel-Information) > > [The Park Royal Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Warrington-Hotels-The-Park-Royal.h24462.Hotel-Information) > > [Pine Lake Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Carnforth-Hotels-Pine-Lake-Resort.h1928661.Hotel-Information) > > [Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bolton-Hotels-Last-Drop-Village-Hotel-And-Spa.h9341.Hotel-Information) > > [Cave Hotel & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Faversham-Hotels-Cave-Hotel-Golf-Resort.h33410673.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Park-Inn-By-Radisson-Manchester-City-Centre.h2601411.Hotel-Information) > > [Ufford Park Woodbridge Hotel, Golf & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Woodbridge-Hotels-Ufford-Park-Woodbridge-Hotel.h12685.Hotel-Information) > > [Dunston Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Norwich-Hotels-Dunston-Hall.h519081.Hotel-Information) > > [Redworth Hall Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newton-Aycliffe-Hotels-Redworth-Hall-Hotel.h517266.Hotel-Information) > > [Royal Whitby](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Whitby-Hotels-The-Royal-Hotel.h57917040.Hotel-Information) > > [Fairmont Windsor Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Egham-Hotels-Fairmont-Windsor-Park.h60335617.Hotel-Information) > > [Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hook-Hotels-Four-Seasons-Hotel-Hampshire.h986107.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Towcester-Hotels-Hilton-Garden-Inn-Silverstone.h48251404.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-Bristol-Airport.h16543862.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Tortworth Court](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-De-Vere-Tortworth-Court.h570412.Hotel-Information) > > [ORIDA Maidstone Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Maidstone-Hotels-ORIDA-Maidstone-Hotel.h74419166.Hotel-Information) > > [Lakes Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-Lakes-Hotel-And-Spa.h901040.Hotel-Information) > > [Aphrodites Group](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-Aphrodites-Group.h901033.Hotel-Information) > > [The Windermere Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-The-Windermere-Hotel.h13431161.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Hotel Christchurch](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Christchurch-Hotels-The-Christchurch-Harbour-Hotel-And-Spa.h18097.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Cotswold Water Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cirencester-Hotels-De-Vere-Cotswold-Water-Park.h1770053.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Wokefield Estate](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Reading-Hotels-De-Vere-Wokefield-Estate.h1044123.Hotel-Information)
