Terrible check-in experience with the property "Inspector"! Check in is 4pm and they mean not one second earlier than that! We arrived at 3:15 pm and the "Inspector" was walking out of the cabin. She identified herself as the "Inspector" and said that all was good and ready to go. I told her that we were a little early but since the cabin was ready, could we go ahead and check in. She asked if I had requested an early check in. I told her that I did ask this morning and was told no, but since we were there and the cabin was ready, could we go ahead. Her response was that she couldn't let us in until 4:00 pm. By now it was 3:30. I asked if we could at least put our refrigerated items into the refrigerator since it was so hot outside and was told NO! She told us to go next door and look around the Homestead Craft Village and come back at 4pm. When we returned at 4pm, we punched in the lock code given to us and it did not work! Saw the "Inspector" and flagged her down. She was very put out and told us that we'd have to contact the agent we've been working with to get a new code. She'd try to call but this was not something that she dealt with! She was absolutely no help at all and I did not appreciate her "Gestapo" attitude towards us! I texted Kenneth and he texted me a new code to unlock the door. Needless to say, it was not a great first impression of the place!
I have no complaints about the cabin itself. Very cute, clean, bigger than it looks, well stocked, and comfy bed. What they don't tell you is that not only is it backed up to a very busy highway (lots of traffic noise into late evening) it's not private at all. There are 2 other Dutch cabins next to you, as well as about a dozen tiny container rentals on the property. If privacy and traffic noise are not an issue, then you'd like this place.
