"It's a one of a kind property covering hundreds of acres. Even if you aren't into horses, seeing them around and just outside the hotel is special. Our room was exceptional with the largest bathroom we've ever used, total room size was probably about 1200 sq ft. This was a corner room, and while not facing the premier arena, it was easy to walk and see the horses being exercised. We only ate at the Yellow Pony but the food was excellent. TPA and MCO are about equal distance. Ocala and SR 200 is not far, with plenty of shopping. The Villages Costco is about an hour away. Everything about the room was high-quality - no MDF furniture here. Even the door hinges on the double doors to the main bathroom (there was also a half-bath off the entrance) and the double doors to the bedroom were quality pieces. If you want a VIP experience this is the place to stay. Daily room service, valet parking (though parking is close unless an event is happening), and also some high-end shopping. You could just stay on site and never leave if you wanted to. Also very quiet, no kids running down the halls, loud noises."

"I see why others mention the neighborhood, but although there are some properties that are questionable we felt safe and the neighborhood was quiet. If you plan to cook during your stay, there are not many options for cooking pans/utensils. So bring casserole dishes, a frying pan if you prefer “non Teflon” type. There aren’t items like tin foil, plastic wrap or zip locks either. These are not complaints however, just informative for the next person. It would be nice if there were TVs in each room but we made it work. No fans in the rooms either, again just a note. Overall it was spacious and the outdoor area was nice and somewhat secluded and private. The place was clean and beds were comfortable."

"Our stay at Kings Bay Lodge was wonderful! Chancie at Front Desk sent msg that our room was available for check in early which was perfect timing for us! Candy at Front Desk was also friendly and helpful during our stay! The property was a nostalgic old Florida motor lodge with an excellent location and beautiful water views! It was clean and well maintained inside and out and clearly renovated/updated after the hurricanes in ‘24. The room was spacious, clean, cool and smelled good right when you walked in. Good furniture and tastefully decorated. Clean Kitchette with all the basics and an ice cold full size fridge. Bed and lounge chairs were comfortable and it was pretty quiet during the week and so relaxing & peaceful. The natural springs pool was cool in many ways and the sunsets were amazing! It was a great location and walking distance or very close drive to many attractions or dining. We had a little issue with a few bugs (NOT bed bugs) first night but they must’ve been aware because a pest control company was there the next day to treat & it seemed to go away. We’re Floridians so we’re used to FL bugs so it wasn’t a deal breaker. I would much rather stay here than a boring chain hotel with no view or character any day! Absolutely loved it and we’re definitely planning to stay there again because it was so charming and all the good features won us over!!! ❤️⭐️😎"

"The Birdhouse is a peaceful little house on the river! Very quiet and secluded, restaurants close by! We loved watching the birds and the boats go by! It's very dog friendly which we loved! Dana is a great host! We highly recommend this little gem of a place!"
