About this property

A Renovated Wine Cellar in the Heart of Nature

  • La Gargouille is a unique holiday rental—a small, renovated former wine cellar—located in the heart of the Corbières region, on the outskirts of an old village with 30 residents.
Surrounded by nature on 5,000 m² of south-facing land overlooking the garrigue, from which numerous hiking trails begin.

The property consists of a former wine cellar (the main building) and an outbuilding featuring an additional bedroom, a bathroom with a toilet, “Le Poulailler”

THE OUTBUILDING IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING; IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE CHECK OUR SECOND LISTING, “LA GARGOUILLE DES CORBIERES 2,” FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE

A former sheepfold, currently occupied by the owners, is also on the property. The two sections are completely separate.
It offers the elegant, rural atmosphere of a beautifully renovated home (using healthy, eco-friendly materials) and a lovely outdoor space that provides peace and tranquility.

Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts: mountain biking, running, cycling, hiking.
A 20-minute walk to natural pools with small waterfalls.

Cultural activities: picturesque villages, abbeys, castles, Carcassonne and its citadel, the wine route, the Canal du Midi...
    45 minutes from the sea.

You’ll stay among the old wine vats; the 80 m² building features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a separate toilet, a kitchen, a living room, and a private, enclosed garden with no overlooking neighbors, complete with a BBQ and lounge chair, as well as a 20 m² annex featuring a bedroom (suitable for one adult couple), a bathroom with a toilet, and a private terrace.

Erholung pur

We spent 14 very relaxing days in the house of Severin and Frederic. The main house as well as the "chicken coop" have been prepared with great attention to detail and great effort. The kitchen is certainly expandable (dishwasher, full oven) but still absolutely sufficient, especially since outside a grill is available. The two hosts are very reserved, have great tips for exploring the area and are there when you need them. A house, highly recommended if you are looking for peace and quiet! Alles in allem PERFEKT.

Bonne continuation. Oscar Gilles Sabine Nathalie

Sehr ruhige, erholsame Tage
