The Three Countries Footbridge, designed in steel by the Franco-Austrian architect Dietmar Feichtinger, is a bridge spanning the Rhine between the towns of Huningue (France) and Weil am Rhein (Germany). Opened in 2007 and boasting the world’s longest span at 238 metres, this footbridge is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. Its name comes from its location between France, Germany, and Switzerland, which is about 100 metres away.

The town of Weil am Rhein (Germany), just a 10-minute drive away, is twinned with Huningue, its French neighbour on the opposite bank, and boasts a rich historical heritage. It is situated on the banks of the Rhine, at the junction of the Swiss and French borders, nestled in a small green enclave. Art and design come together in the town of Weil am Rhein: the internationally renowned Vitra Design Museum attracts architecture enthusiasts, while the Vitra Haus, a building dedicated to living spaces, captivates visitors of all ages.
The Vitra company designs and manufactures chairs, and giant versions of these models can be spotted here and there as you stroll through the city’s streets. The Museum of Rural Life, the Textile Museum, the Carnival, the Christmas Market, Wine Day, the Street Festival, and the city’s cultural programme make it an attractive destination year-round.

The city of Basel is considered the cultural capital of Switzerland. The city is renowned for its many museums, including the Kunstmuseum—Switzerland’s largest art museum and, historically, the world’s first art collection open to the public (1661)—the Beyeler Foundation, the Tinguely Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. It is also known for Art Basel, one of the world’s most important annual contemporary art events, held around mid-June. With forty museums spread throughout the canton, the city is one of Europe’s major cultural centers.

The Parc des Eaux Vives: Kayaking, canoeing, rafting, hydrospeed, or whitewater swimming. This canal between Huningue and Niffer connects the Grand Canal d’Alsace and the Rhône-Rhine Canal. Crossed by EuroVelo 15, its banks are popular with cycling tourists.
