I truly cannot say enough good things about the Sea Gate Hotel. From Penny’s welcome upon our arrival and clear love for the island and its horses, to Kelly providing detailed instructions to help get to the island and the hotel, navigate car rental options, and going out of her way to help us troubleshoot any issues during any aspect of our stay, the service and hospitality are nothing short of perfect. (Kelly put us in touch with John for an affordable car option, but the rental golf carts will get you around the hills just fine too.)
They offer laundry service for a fee that we took advantage of, as well as horseback tours at a reasonable additional cost.
The nature and views from every suite are breathtaking, this is the perfect hotel for anyone who enjoys walking out their front door to see animals, fruit trees, and a full horse stable, beautifully maintained. The pool is small but perfect for a dip, especially after returning from a trip to the beach.
The location is excellent, a manageable uphill walk from the “downtown” area and ferry and a 15-25 minute ride from any of the beaches on the south side of the island. Penny is happy to review the map to help you find your perfect beach, and took the time to do so immediately upon our arrival.
I really can’t do how great our stay was justice, and cannot wait to be back on a future trip. I’ve recommended Sea Gate to family and friends already.
