View on ancient Pieve «Casa Sotto la Torre 'is on the magazine CasAntica n 57 (month January / February 2014) with a wonderful article !!!!! The house 'Casa Sotto la Torre', Casa Cielo, is located in the shadow of the medieval Clock Tower, still working. Immersed in the green chestnut groves that surround the entire country. The farmhouse is divided into four large houses: 'Casa Cielo' 'Casa Terra' 'Casa Pietra' and 'Casa Il Nido' Exposed completely to the south, Casa Cielo offers from its windows, a panorama that has no equal, where, further down, set among tall firs, is the ancient Pieve of the village. Casa Cielo has the entrance next to the road. The first environment that meets is the room where they were originally put to dry chestnuts, which with the mushrooms were the basis of the economy of the place. A curtain hides the boiler room and the laundry. The actual entrance, on the top of the staircase, is represented by the living room. The beautiful fireplace you find is in stone. The kitchen was built in what was originally the kitchen itself. The corridors have been kept intact, and there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Casa Cielo's large bathroom was originally part of an attic, which during the Second World War was an observation point for the Germans. The original and original beam was destroyed by a bomb and replaced. A curiosity: the towel holders are made with old gutter supports. The entrance to a bedroom, which overlooks the corridor, has the particularity of having access to a private balcony from where you can admire the beautiful landscape. One of the rooms is characterized by the fascinating beam in original chestnut. Casa Cielo also has a beautiful private terrace-solarium where you can lie in the sun or enjoy an excellent glass of Tuscan wine in the evening. Here we can experience that delicious feeling of "old Italy" that every tourist wants. Sitting outside in one of the many benches writing or reading ... This would be a perfect place to spend a month or more for a writer, painter or anyone looking for beauty or a place to think and be creative. Boveglio is a delightful medieval village where Casa Sotto la Torre is located, can be reached by car driving north for 15 kilometers on the narrow, SP 55 of Collodi or south for 10 km on the SP 55 from Bagni de Lucca. The house is located on the SP55 just at the northwest entrance of the village of Boveglio. There is a bus service to and from Pescia, but a car is probably needed. We found two good restaurants and a small but well-stocked grocery market in a village called Benabbio, 5 kilometers north of Boveglio. Great location for day trips to Florence, Lucca, Garfagnana and all of Tuscany in general ... Also for the fabulous Cinque Terre in Liguria ... Brief history: The farmhouse dates back to the late 1700s, and has just been restored by the owners keeping intact the characteristics of Tuscan architecture, with exposed stone walls, paved in hand-made bricks and ceilings in chestnut beams and bricks. The furniture is the original and the atmosphere that you breathe is that of the past, where the pace of life seems to slow down .... The first document referring to Boveglio dates back to 757 AD. c. The village is enclosed within the walls, and has a very rich artistic heritage, where stands the imposing Clock Tower, which in medieval times also served as a tower for the sighting of enemy armies. The trip up the side of the hill was an adventure. Could use fans to circulate air in the place. Overall everyone had a great experience. What a magnificent place to experience the mountains! The house is utterly charming and convenient - 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for the 5 of us. We loved making meals in the kitchen on our stay at home days. We had lovely evening card games and dinner out on the terrace, and enjoyed the dark skies and stars. The clothes dry wonderfully in the late morning/afternoon sun. We appreciated the starters of coffee, tea, salt, oil, toilet paper, and laundry pods. It also helped to have a panini maker to make toasts. Opening the kitchen window over the geranium basket was my favorite morning ritual! And the water... delightfully fresh and soft! It is far away from conveniences and sites. Bagni di Lucca, where the big grocery store is, is 9 kms away and it is a 14km drive from the base. Each night, as we returned from Lucca, Pisa, Siena, we had an additional 40 minute drive up. The house also does not have a microwave, so we reheating was done traditionally, which we did not mind. We loved the peace and quiet, and the cool, away from the heat and crowds of the city. The bell tower that rang every half hour, the bread delivery that comes around every morning, and the charming cobbled streets made for a wonderful experience. Lisa was easy to communicate with via whatsapp and checked in with us upon our entry and exit. ##### ramya s. The little village is far away from all the usual stress and hectic pace of cities, yet it is located in the centre of Tuscany, so that one can easily reach Lucca, Florence, Viareggio and many other places by car. The house is simply fantastic - there is no other word for it! The furnishing is very atmospheric, the home appliances are up-to-date, the three bedrooms are spacious, and the balcony is simply huge and offers a view over the surrounding mountains. Das sehr liebevoll eingerichtete Haus "Casa Cielo" hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen. Der Ausblick und die unglaubliche Ruhe laden zum Entspannen und Wohlfühlen ein. Der großzügige Garten und der Grill stehen zur Verfügung. Der Garten verfügt ebensfalls über unzählige italienische Kräuter, mit denen das Kochen noch mehr Spaß macht. Zum Thema Kochen: die Küche ist im rustikalen Stil eingerichtet. Der Gasherd ist ein Blickfang. Die große als auch die kleine Terrasse gehörten zu unseren Lieblingsplätzen im Haus. Das Wohnzimmer ist liebevoll und detailreich eingerichtet. Die restlichen Zimmer sind großzügig geschnitten, auch das Bad konnte sich sehen lassen. Die Bilder lügen nicht. Die Städte Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, Siena und Florenz sind gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Bis zur Küste ist es auch nicht weit. Wobei gesagt werden muss, dass wir uns auf "unserem Berg" am wohlsten gefühlt haben. Mit ner Flasche Wein auf der Terrasse und dann den Sonnenuntergang und die unglaubliche Stille genießen. Niesamowita okolica nawet przerazajaca cisza, spokój i urokliwe miejsce. Bardzo wysoko i krete drogi ale warto było sie wspiąć. Klucz w doniczce wyposazenie pelne i czysto, piekne ogrody z kwiatami i ziolami. Niezapomniany pobyt no i te usmiechy i powitania mieszkańców wioski. Polecam szczegolnie ludziom z miasta i zabieganym - cisza i letarg. Fajne miejsce wypadowe do Pizy, Florencji no i polecamy Lukę.
