This is unfortunately one of the nosiest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. When going on a city break you accept a certain level of noise from traffic etc but this was not the problem:
1. Rooms at the front of the hotel are 10 metres from basketball courts used by local teenagers.
As a result they hang out until the early morning; playing music; bouncing the ball (which sounds futile but when it happens every 5 seconds until 4.30am it becomes wearing).
2. The rooftop bar seems like a draw of this hotel but as it is a hot spot for the general public it means the place just below your bedroom window is then the local hangout at 1.15am (kick out from the bar is 1am) for all the local, loud drunk people.
These noise problems would be easily solvable should you be able to close the window; however as there is no air conditioning or fan in the room this is not an option if you want to survive the night without becoming a melted mess.
The hotel itself is not noisy at all (we did not hear noise from other rooms or guests). The decor is general fun and the reception staff all very helpful (although be prepared to have a long wait every time you use reception as there is always a queue and each query seems to take a long time to deal with). The room was small but perfectly functional; the shower was fab. There is a sign in the room saying the mini bar is free but we avoided testing this out as they take a 50 euro fee when you check in.
