Sea and Sun House - Sun Option

Casa Mare e Sole is a family-run home located in the historic centre of the hilltop village of Vibonati, in the heart of Cilento, in southern Italy. The property has been in the same family for four generations and has recently been carefully restored to welcome guests seeking an authentic and peaceful Italian experience.

The property offers two completely independent accommodation options, each with its own private entrance, allowing couples, families, or small groups to enjoy both comfort and privacy just minutes from the sea. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.

The “Sole” option is a spacious 100 square metres, designed for families or small groups, and can accommodate up to 4 people. The layout includes a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms (one with two single beds and the other with a double bed), and a private bathroom, offering everything needed for a peaceful and comfortable stay. The space also features a small traditional balcony, where guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the historic village and the slower pace of life typical of Southern Italy.
Throughout the house, guests will find framed family photographs that tell the family’s storey across different generations and countries. We invite our guests to discover these details during their stay and to experience the home as more than just a holiday rental.

Guests will receive a curated local guide with recommendations for beaches, restaurants, bars, villages, hidden gems, and some of our favourite excursions in the area.

Vibonati is one of the historic medieval villages of Cilento, characterised by narrow stone-paved streets, ancient churches, and panoramic views of the Gulf of Policastro. The village is also known as “the village of portals” thanks to its historic stone doorways and beautifully preserved noble entrances, which reflect centuries of local history and architecture.

Despite its peaceful and authentic atmosphere, the coast and beaches of Villammare are just a short drive away. The surrounding Cilento region is renowned for its natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, hiking trails, traditional cuisine, and slower pace of life. Nearby Sapri offers a lively waterfront, shops, and restaurants, while the Cilento National Park provides endless opportunities to explore the nature and traditions of Southern Italy.
