My stay at Hotel Arpoador was wonderful. The standard room is small, so beware if you need a lot of personal space or privacy. My priority is cleanliness and friendliness. I had no cleanliness concerns. I did not see one insect. I left a note on how I wanted my room cleaned (don't make my bed), and that was honored. Eli at the desk, Vitor at the beach, and the gentleman with locs at the front desk were very kind, cheerful, and helpful. The guy with the ponytail working on the roof on 9/27 for breakfast was very friendly and helpful also. This location was easy to uber everywhere and walkable to lot's of places in the area as well. No safety concerns. Hotel right on the beach and they provide chairs and umbrellas. Beware of beach vendors. Verify what you are paying as they tried to charge me thousands of dollars for a few drinks. Thankfully my bank declined it. This had nothing to do with the hotel though. I would 100% stay here again.

When we first arrived, I left my husband in the cab while I went inside to check the apartment. The apartment itself was dark but clean and comfortable. However, when I went back outside to get my husband, I became locked inside the reception area for approximately 10 minutes. There was no doorman, buzzer, or other way to contact someone for assistance, and I had no way to exit through the main entrance. This created a serious safety risk because I was trapped in an unsecured area with no reliable means of escape or communication. I eventually found a dark back door and used it to exit through what appeared to be an abandoned garage. This was also dangerous because the area was poorly lit, unfamiliar, and did not appear to be intended for guest access. In an emergency, being unable to exit safely through the main entrance could leave guests trapped or force them to use an unsafe route. The building’s access and emergency-exit arrangements should be addressed immediately.

Wonderful hotel

I had such a wonderful stay here as a solo traveler and felt completely safe and comfortable throughout my visit. The hotel staff went out of their way to make me feel welcomed, accommodated, and taken care of. They truly went above and beyond, and I was so happy to stay here. The location is absolutely fantastic, and being so close to the beach was a huge highlight. Everything was convenient and easy to access. A special shoutout to Marjorie and Sammy for their exceptional service. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, and really made my stay memorable. I would definitely stay here again!

Hola!! Si vas de vacaciones a Río el lugar para alojarte es “el Janeiro”. Creo que 5 estrellas es poco. Desde la atención, el servicio, la excelencia de su personal en cada una de las áreas, la mejor ubicación de todo Río y cada detalle demuestra que NADA fue liberado al azar en este hotel. MARAVILLOSO. Gracias, sin duda pronto volveremos.
