OUR COMMENT A Venetian casetta that’s sure to make you smile, just tucked away on Dorsoduro’s ‘Museum Mile’… A short amble to the iconic Church of the Salute, the Accademia Galleries and Bridge (and the VOV office!), the Palazzo Cini Gallery, plus the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art, and close to a variety of fine eating places and bars including Ai Gondolieri and Ristorante Riviera for fine dining, and Corner Pub, Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi for cicheti and spritz. An easy waterside stroll to 2 Conad supermarkets – one at the western end of the Zattere and a smaller one closer to home at Zattere Spirito Santo – and to 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere Spirito Santo, Zattere, Salute and Accademia – for travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!) Also close to the ‘traghetto’ at Calle Lanza/Calle del Traghetto S. Gregorio which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco, and within easy reach of the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport. For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival. Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. Nothing was too much trouble for Enrica and she responded promptly to messages. The accommodation is tucked away up an alley and so is very quiet and secluded but also close to many amenities. We will certainly return. We adored Venice, and our apartment there! It was in such a quaint and wonderful area. Walkable to most of Venice. Our host was more than helpful, not only with the unit, but with reserving water transport, making recommendations and met us at waterfront and walked us to the unit and went through everything at check-in including recommendations on restaurants and ways to maneuver Venice. Best bed ever! Check in with Annalisa was smooth and easy. The house is tucked away down a tiny Venetian alley but very convenient to 2 Vaporetti stops. It’s on the ground floor so it doesn’t get much direct sunlight but we were there most in the evenings so it didn’t much matter since it was dark anyway. Very quiet and relaxing. The apartment is on a very quiet calle so no issues with late night or early morning noise. The small courtyard is shared with the residents whose homes also open onto the space. The apartment was clean and well organised but rather dark due to its position within a small courtyard which was somewhat overlooked by the adjoining neighbours. However, it was in a superb location within easy distance of the waterfront, bars and restaurants, the vaporetto stop at Zattere and all the sights! Yet it was also well away from all the crowds.
