"Quiet, friendly hotel close to centre."
We stayed at Casa Verarda with our 14 year old grandson in a junior suite which had a large double bed and 2 singles - one of which was screened off, so our grandson was delighted as it gave him some privacy. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable, although we struggled a bit with the very fat pillows as we are used to flatter ones! Although the hotel was quite central (just 5 minutes from St Mark's Square) it was completely quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was good, although this can be subjective, given different expectations. It included bacon, scrambled eggs, cheeses, ham, plain and fruit yoghurt with a range of oats and seeds, cereals, preserves, fruit juice, apples, orange slices, lovely warm bread rolls, seeded bread for toasting, french stick for slicing, muffins, cake & croissants (I thinks that's it!) All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. All spoke good English. The hotel was a little difficult to find on our arrival, so we were very glad that we had splurged on an escorted transfer from the airport. As we arrived late and in the dark, this was worth every penny!
