About this property
Ca' Venexiana, quiet 2 bedroom with private canalside courtyard - no added fees!
When you travel, do you seek a place simply to sleep...or do you long for a place that takes you away, where you can truly live your holiday? Lovingly maintained and beautifully adorned, Ca' Venexiana is no impersonal hotel or sparse apartment with bare rooms and furnishings of little character. Ca' Venexiana is a treasure box in this treasured city, a place to savor the delights of Venice and daydream away the outside world, offering an unforgettable setting in which to experience the magic of La Serenissima.
"We rented an apartment (Ca’ Venexiana) surrounded on two sides by canals...like the coolest corner lot you can imagine…in Venice’s Dorsoduro district, a quiet area of the city we came to love. It wasn’t uncommon to be enjoying a glass of wine in the kitchen while a gondolier rode right past the window. A truly magical spot."
Just imagine yourself amidst picturesque canals and charming campielli in the popular sestriere of Dorsoduro, a picture perfect place nestled away from the tourist crowds and yet a short stroll away from the major sites and attractions (less than 10 minute's walk to Accademia!) An ideal location in the city's historic centre. At Ca' Venexiana, we are completely enclosed, away from the noise of the city's foot traffic on the calles and bordered on two sides by quiet canals. All of our windows face onto water to ensure your utmost privacy; there will be no passing tour groups peering in your windows. Our garden courtyard is completely private (for our guests' use only) and opens onto a lovely canal for pleasant viewing of the passing gondolas. Any traffic on our canals is restricted to gondolas and local small boats, sheltering us from the noise of the daily delivery barges or trash boats. Ca' Venexiana is a true hidden paradise.
Maintained to a high standard and filled with personal touches both inside and out, we believe you will find everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Inside you will find a splendid retreat - sumptuously decorated - where you can truly live "la vita di Venezia," an experience no hotel can offer. Within minutes of our doorstep, you will find the popular and enjoyable Campo San Margherita, Campo San Barnaba, and the Zattere, all perfect and unique spots for basking in the Venetian atmosphere.
The owner of this property takes great pride and makes every effort to share the secrets of the city with her guests, seeking to make each guest's stay a personal and fulfilling experience. Our guests are greeted personally and given all the benefit of a local's perspective, their knowledge and love for this unique place we call home. Many of our guests have become our personal friends with whom we keep in touch and share our love of this wonderful city.
There are no hidden fees! Housekeeping, the City of Venice tourist taxes, and utilities are all included - you will not be asked to pay these separately upon arrival as many other properties will. No surprises - you can begin your adventure as soon as you arrive...
At Ca' Venexiana you will also find the 'little things' most easily overlooked when traveling - electrical adapters, umbrellas, a library of books, guidebooks and maps, and rainboots for rainy days. There is a flat-screen computer for our guests' use, a vast selection of DVDs, as well as complimentary Netflix for evenings in. We keep a selection of excellent cookbooks on hand, as well as seasonal herbs growing on our canalside courtyard. You can even enjoy a lemon from our lemon tree when in bloom! We strongly suggest visiting the local markets (daily fish, fruit and vegetable markets are located within two minutes of our door.) Our chef-inspired, fully-equipped kitchen has every modern convenience, ready for you to try your hand at some authentic Italian dishes.
Ca' Venexiana is not a hotel, house, or villa ~ we are a private apartment that offers a unique, self-catering accommodation experience for your holiday / vacation / getaway. You will not simply see Venice, but you will live it! We look forward to sharing our home, our neighborhood, and our beautiful city...with you.

What a wonderful place to stay. Close to al the sights, and it was great having breakfast and watching the gondolas saunter past the little terrace. There's a treasure trove of guides and information in the property to help you make the most of your stay. Highly recommended.

We loved how quiet the location was. It was an easy walk to the main attractions of Venice, but tucked away in a quiet area of the city. The apartment was easily one of the best we've stayed in! The kitchen had everything we needed for making amazing meals to enjoy on the fabulous canal side courtyard! We would return without hesitation!
We stayed for 2 nights and wished we had more. The location is 5 star with so many fantastic local restaurants so very close by.
Even better though is the stunning courtyard which opens directly onto the canal. We started our days there drinking coffee and ended our days there with afternoon pre-dinner drinks, the perfect place to stay.
Can’t wait to return to Venice and also this apartment. Great location! Canal side patio can’t be beat! Host recommendations were spot on. A great time for my family!
We absolutely loved this Venice apartment - from the lively interior to the amazing private terrace overlooking a canal. The apartment is in a quiet part of the city, yet close to cafes, amazing restaurants, and more.
I would 100% stay here again for any trip to Venice.
This apartment was perfect for our stay - charming with a Venetian feel and all the amenities we needed. Located in a quiet part of Dorsodouro but with lots of restaurants and shops just steps away. The only traffic was the occasional gondolier going by. The owner is very responsive and the information she provides is truly impressive. We took up a lot of her recommendations. A wonderful stay in Venice!
Beautiful, well-supplied apartment in great neighborhood
A friend and I stayed in this apartment in late February, during Carnival, and just loved it and the area. Jackie was super responsive, and had thought of everything to make it easy to figure out for North American visitors not familiar with Venice - and European appliances! It was easy to get to from the train station and to leave via water bus to the airport, in spit of some confusion about the check in process with the property manager at the start. Jackie left great advice on restaurants and things to see. Highly recommend!
The house was beautifully decorated, off the crowded area but still close to restaurants, shopping, etc... There were detailed instructions for everything. You could tell the owner spent a lot of time thinking of its guests needs. I would definitely recommend this house for your stay in Venice.
Authentic Italian apartment. Loved the decor and location. Super accommodating host! Jackie met us at the Vaporetto stop with good communication. Loved all the extras, snacks, Prosecco, etc. Venice was a dream vacation! Would love to come back to our special canal side patio! So bellissimo!
This lovely ground-floor apartment is located in a quiet neighbourhood with lots of small restaurants, shops and even a small supermarket (Conad City) all located within a few hundred meters. The apartment was clean, roomy and well-furnished. Right next to the canal, it has a small courtyard that would have been great in the summer but we were there in the winter - still couldn't resist sitting there every day at least for a short time!
Hope we can come back again soon!
This property was fantastic to stay in! Hostess was incredibly helpful and communicative. The private canal courtyard is beautiful and the main reason I booked this property. Neighborhood was cute and quiet. The closest restaurant, Al Profeta was amazing! The only “downside” was that it was a 20 minute walk to San Marcos Square and the train station. If walking a little isn’t an issue then this place is 100% worth the stay! Will be recommending this property to friends and family who travel to Venice in the future.
This is a perfect place to stay in Venice. Away from the main crowds, a local neighborhood feel, offering good food options. The photos do not do the apartment justice. The owner has done an excellent job making sure you have everything you need, and goes out of her way to to take care of any needs. There was a boat and train strike when we were leaving, and she checked to make sure our train was not affected. Overall, a great host!
Nice property.Had a little trouble finding the place, but, great location. Jackie was fantastic in communicating. One tip-
If you’re getting a waterbus from train station, depart from the one to your right-NOT Left. We got on the wrong line.
This apartment was exactly what we were looking for during a recent extended stay in Venice. It’s close to everything - grocery, vaporetto stops, produce vendors (on a barge!), shops and sites. The modern kitchen was very well equipped and the other rooms were quiet and comfortable. The owner provided a comprehensive binder of information for your stay as well as books and movies. The representatives were easy to communicate with and responsive to our periodic inquiries. We very much hope to return one day!
Fabulous property. It’s in a quiet area of Venice and so relaxing to escape the busy tourist crowds in the day. Just a few minutes walk from the appt is a large ‘campo’ which is wonderful to wile say a few hours relaxing. The private courtyard is a hidden gem in the city. Communication is excellent and appt is exceptionally clean and attention to detail isn’t spared. Highly recommended.
Jackie was an exceptional host! She has thought of everything to assure her guests have a beautiful stay. The apartment was clean and very nicely appointed…the courtyard patio, canal side, was the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, all while seeing the occasional gondola pass by. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood but still only a few minutes walk away from restaurants, shops and the Grand Canal.
Grazie mille Jackie for providing the perfect spot to appreciate all Venice has to offer!
Absolutely loved this place. Wished I could have stayed longer. The apartment comes with many conveniences for the traveller. A well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Charging stations. Printer for boarding passes. It’s super cute and authentic. The little courtyard overlooking the canal is so unique. I would recommend to anyone with 3-4 people. It’s larger than it appears in photos too.
This is without a double the most well appointed and lovely decorated VEBO apartment I’ve ever stayed at by far! As someone said earlier, people who have VRBO rentals should take lessons from the owner Jackie on the correct way to appoint a rental! She has absolutely thought of everything to make your stay wonderful ❤️ The location if fabulous too! The Dorsoduro district is another plus because it’s away from the crowds of San Marco and is very laid back, with great little restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk🤙
I can’t recommend it enough❤️ You certainly won’t regret renting Jackie’s beautiful apartment!
My wife and I had never been to Venice (or Italy for that matter) and only speak English so to say it could be confusing at times is an understatement. Our host made our stay and check-in process easy. She was quick to respond to questions and put a lot of thought into the apartment and the things that would make the guests stay a lot easier and more comfortable. The place was well taken care of, clean, and perfectly located on a corner of 2 canals with waterfront views throughout the apartment and private patio. Absolutely will make a point to return for another stay here. Highly recommend 10/10
This was a amazing property right on the canals, it has a amazing patio area which was great to enjoy a peaceful breakfast, my kids reading, and drawing. This was our 4th house on our trip and by far the best. Beds were comfortable, items needed were there, large guest books breaking down info from how to use things in house to restaurants. Reminder posts on walls or near appliances. Had a computer to print documents, books about Venice for kids as well as adults, AC and fans, canteens to fill wine, entertainment and so much more. Questions were answered promptly and stories of the property was nice to read. Such a beautiful city as well a quiet area that was a short walk away. We loved everything about this property and if we return we will definitely rent again. We will also be referring others if they vacation here.
This place is so fabulous and can't say enough good things about it! Wonderful location, close to two water taxi stops, great restaurants, and a grocery store. Being right on the canal and having a patio was amazing! We enjoyed watching people go by in gondolas and boats, the neighbors across the way put their boats in the garage, ducks float by, fish and crabs in the canal, people walking by nearby bridges and just life in general. The apt has so much charm and is well equipped. We were able to host our other friends who were visiting for a little dinner party out on the patio and had everything we needed. They have a little rolling cart to get groceries and the store is nearby. There were very good instructions for everything in the apartment and the recommendations for activities and restaurants were wonderful! We all really loved our stay here during our time in Venice and if I return I would definitely want to stay here again!
We loved our stay at Ca' Venexiana. The canal facing patio was the highlight, but the apartment was very comfortable with lots of windows, and amenities like plenty of ice cube trays, laundry, a comfortable, well-stocked kitchen with lots of ways to make coffee, and power strips with USB-A style charging ports in the bedrooms. Jackie also provided a house manual with many recommendations for exploring the neighborhood, many of which we took and all of which we enjoyed. (We had probably the best dinner of our entire Italy trip at Ristorante Oniga in San Barnaba square, which was just a 3 minute walk from the apartment and had several restaurants, cafes, shops, and grocery stores.)
Jackie was extremely communicative in the lead up to our arrival, and went above and beyond to help get us situated - including reaching out pre-emptively to help us register exemptions to a new tourist tax that Venice is imposing on day trippers some weekends of the year.
Venice had long been a dream trip of mine, and thanks to Jackie and Ca' Venexiana it was everything I dreamed of and more.
The host, Jackie, should teach a course in how to set up a vrbo property. The binder she left was all inclusive and full of details on operating appliances, transportation options and all the information you would ever need for your stay. The property was immaculate. The fully stocked kitchen with every item you would ever need as well as every basic ingredient you would need. The attention to detail and the elegance of the furniture, draperies and bedding exceeded our expectations. The apartment is also is situated in an ideal location close to cafes, restaurants, grocery store, pharmacie and many interesting and unique shops. It is also but a short walk to the vaporetto stop which is an inexpensive mode of transportation that can take you anywhere you want to go in the area. Totally wonderful experience! Thank you, Jackie!
