Dressed in its finest and sitting patiently in wait for you beside a wide stone bridge at the meeting point of three canals between little Campiello Mosca, the 17th century Church of San Pantalon and buzzy Campo Santa Margherita in the district of Dorsoduro, Ca’ Pantalon is newly renovated and lies on the second (top) floor reached by stairs. Filled with light thanks to its many windows and elevated position and dotted throughout with monochrome wall prints of Venetian lagoonscapes and city scenes, the apartment sleeps four guests in air-conditioned\* comfort in a serene setting in which the natural beauty of lofty roof timbers and rich wooden flooring stands out against an easy-on-the-eye palette of creams, whites and classy neutrals. Freshly appointed and with Wi-Fi internet connection, accommodation comprises: • a main sitting/dining room with a large feature fireplace (not in use), two sofas, a dining suite for four and views over the ‘Rio Ca’ Foscari’ and the ‘Rio De San Pantalon’ canals - one quite busy, the other more sedate • a modern, compact yet well-equipped kitchen with breakfast seating for two • a wonderful and very large secluded furnished terrace to the rear - a splendid spot for soaking up the sun…how I wish I could be there right now!... and almost an extra sitting/dining room outdoors during the summer and fine weather • two restful bedrooms of similar style - one an elegant double with double bed and the other a spacious single with an extra single bed • two nicely-fitted bathrooms which complete the accommodation - one split-level with sunken bathtub and shower over, and the second with shower OUR COMMENT A classic new apartment to cocoon you in comfort… …superbly located right on the borders of not 1 but 3 Venetian districts or ‘sestieri’ - Santa Croce, San Polo and Dorsoduro - allowing easy access to all the restaurants, sights and activities that each has to offer! A stone’s throw to the fabulous Tintoretto-filled Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the famous Church of the Frari, and within minutes of the San Toma vaporetto (water bus) stop for easy travel around the city and the ‘Traghetto’ gondola ferry crossing the Grand Canal to the San Marco district. Easily reachable on foot from Piazzale Roma if travelling light and close to the small shops, Punto supermarket and fish, fruit and vegetable stalls at Campo Santa Margherita for all your self-catering needs. \*Please note that the operation of air conditioning and heating are subjected to the municipality regulation. Generally, the heating works from middle of October to middle of April, while air conditioning works between middle of Aprile to middle of October. Please contact us for further information. For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. Hosts were super helpful in arranging a water taxi to pick us up at the train station and then again to take us to the airport. They met us at the property to let us in and show us around, even spending a few minutes with a map to point out some things in the area and how to get to them, then they were available via WhatApp in case we needed anything, but we didn't. Very nice area not teaming with tourists. The AC and wifi broke while there but repaired. The sheets were very scratchy so I asked for ones that were better. The bed is rather hard. Nice to have a washing machine. There were practically no standard provisions such as sugar or paper towels. The patio is nice to have but the furniture needs replacing— splinters on tables and chairs. The apartment really needs some design help. Just little things mean a lot. Very cheap and old furniture. I spent 8 nights there so it mattered. Good restaurants right outside the door like The Dolfin. There are 3 total flights of stairs so don’t recommend this unless you are in good shape. Check-in was easy as Rosanna from the rental agency met us when we got off the vaporetto, walked us to the apartment, gave us information about the neighborhood and registered us for the Venice tourist tax nonsense. Our only issue -- turning on the wifi extender -- was answered and resolved quickly with no hassles. Very much appreciated! Inside the apartment there's a ton of space with elegant furnishings in excellent condition -- a full kitchen, separate dining area, living room, two full bathrooms, patio, closets galore and large bedrooms. Everything was spotless clean except the patio which needed a sweep and a rinse. The larger bathroom is all elegant marble, just be careful as it gets slippery and there are two steps up to the shower/bath. Outside is a perfect neighborhood with a location outside the normal tourist areas. There is a picturesque view of a canal out the window and a large campo (square) just on the other side for restaurants, cafes and markets. It was lively during the day and quiet at night, just what we wanted. We hope to stay here again during our next visit to this amazing city. ##### Sparky C. Stayed 4 nights in Mar 2023 From a partner site ### 10/10 Excellent #### John Benjamin 4 Jun 2025 #### Ca' Pantalon Terrace is Modern, Spacious, and Perfectly Located Ca' Pantelon is a very spacious, modern unit prefectly located near Campo Santa Margherita (under 2 minutes) but far enough that it does not get the crowds. 10 minutes to the train station in one direction, and ten minutes to the Academia bridge in the other. Many dozens of great dining options, from quick pizza to several of the top places in the City, are within a 5 minute walk. Excellent wine shop seconds away. Plenty of windows and sunlight. Great kitchen. The terrace is quite private, with just a sliver of a view of nearby rooftops. Campo San Pantalon can be a little noisy in the mornings with the garbage barge, but it's gone by 10:00\. The unit is two flights of stairs up, but that provides a nice view of the canals and reduces mosquitoes. And, as always, Views on Venice is fantastic in terms of getting you settled in, addressing any issues, reserving water taxis, etc. I would not stay in Venice without working through VoV! ##### John Benjamin ---
