Elegantly attired in a classic, homely style and peacefully positioned within a genteel neighbourhood dotted with galleries and antique shops well clear of the hustle and bustle yet close to Campo Santo Stefano, these inviting apartments are of differing sizes and sleep up to 10 guests when taken together. Just a few steps from the renowned Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art in a parish that legendary lover Casanova called home, the palazzetto offers a stylish address to rest easy within a short and pleasant stroll of the many attractions of St. Mark’s Square. We offer 2 other apartments in this Venetian palazzetto (little palace): Ca’ Grassi 2 (on the 2nd Floor) and Ca’ Grassi 3 (on the 3rd Floor) OUR COMMENT A popular, newly refreshed and brilliantly placed residence for 4 situated right beside ‘Casa Veronese’ (once the home of the 16th-century Italian Renaissance painter, Paolo Veronese). Within steps of the neighbourhood grocery store/delicatessen, a wine shop, a range of cafes/osterie (including those fringing the nearby Campo Santo Stefano), plus the gallery of interior designer Chiarastella Cattana - a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici). A stone’s throw to the Accademia Bridge crossing the Grand Canal over to Dorsoduro and conveniently close the vaporetto (water bus) stops at San Samuele and Sant' Angelo for easy travel around the city, and to the ‘traghetto’ gondola ferry which, during operating times, carries passengers across the Grand Canal between Calle Del Tragheto (near Sant’ Angelo) and San Toma in the district of San Polo. For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival. Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. The bathrooms were both very clean and spacious. The air conditioning was much needed and much appreciated. Everything was spotless, Lucca gave us a wonderful welcome and Enrica was available via whatsapp and quick to reply throughout our stay. It was so easy to get to. Water stop was a 2 minute flat walk to apartment. There’s only one floor but 36 steps (my dad counted!) so there is some climbing with the luggage. It was charming and felt very Venetian but quite spacious and fully modernized. Kitchen was very well supplied so we were able to cook and eat comfortably when we didn’t want to go out to eat. Two bedrooms both comfortable and having two bathrooms was ideal. Everything was spotless. But the best part was the level of service by Views on Venice!!! They arranged both our arrival and departure water taxis and they were spot on which made it so easy and Lucca met us at the water stop and walked us to our apartment and showed us everything. Their response time to messages is nearly instant, and available 24/7, which was so comforting being in a foreign country! Ca' Grassi was exactly as advertised and we enjoyed our stay there. The apartment is very large with high ceilings and large windows. Everything was clean and the kitchen, although small, is bright, modern and well equipped. It's location is super for sightseeing around Venice. Thank you to the staff of Views on Venice for meeting us at the waterbus stop, showing us around the flat and for the tips on getting around in Venice. Beautiful and charming apartment is spacious with very high ceilings. Lovely updated bathrooms and kitchen add to the character. My 2nd stay here was wonderful. Added to the great apartment, the property manager, Views on Venice, is amazingly responsive, attentive and thoughtful. The only downside is the 37 stairs to the apartment. They didn't deter me!! The neighborhood is close to everything but down a quiet street, which makes you feel really a part of the neighborhood. There are two very good restaurants nearby. San Marco, the Accademia bridge and the Rialto are within walking distance This apartment has two bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Should you decide to cook, there is a good size kitchen with everything you will need. Perhaps best of all, Views On Venice the property managers are responsive, very helpful and always available. We have been in Venice many times and this group are the very best experience we have every had. We loved the apartment. Thank you Views On Venice.... ##### Christine M. It was immaculately clean, perfectly situated, and everything our family (2 adults and 2 teens) could have asked for. It was in a quiet part of Venice and yet only a 10-15 minute walk to everything you want to go to. A grocery store was a few blocks away and the fully-stocked kitchen allowed us to cook most nights. We went in the middle of a heat wave and the A/C and fans were most delightful and worked very well. Our daughter enjoyed a cool bath most afternoons. There are stairs going up, but they are well-lit at night with the switches and it is not laborious. We would absolutely stay here again, thank you for a great stay! ##### Alexandra T. We were met where the water boat dropped us off and she walked us over to the apt and showed us around the apt and gave recommendations. Only thing is there was no espresso to make coffee—there was only instant coffee, which is not the same. I pulled out the map from the Taxi place.... our representative said "use our map, it's bigger".... and it was much easier to read and frankly, it was a game changer for us to navigate the streets and squares. A few notes: it’s on the second floor of a building that has 14’ ceilings and steep stairs. Our three year old was able to climb them but it takes a while. Everything works very well: bathrooms are newly remodeled, windows are large and bright with blackout shutters (no real view but the location of the apartment is stellar), kitchen is relatively new, the living room is large and spacious. We were also impressed with the rental network’s (they manage \~90 apartments in Venice) concierge service. The building does not have laundry but they were able to take care of it for us. The team is incredible! So helpful from the moment we booked… our flight was cancelled on the day but they rearranged the water taxi, arranged a late checkin and took all stress away from us - honestly Annalisa and Marta I can’t thank you enough! But little things like buying us some milk and breakfast were so thoughtful especially when we arrived almost 8 hours later than expected. The apartment is wonderful, really large, good aircon and for us we found the beds to be actually really comfortable (not something I often say in Italy!) it’s also in the most perfect position, just near lots of lovely cafes, there is a little shop right by the apartment and a larger one slightly further away. The Vaporetto stop is again only a couple of minutes walk away…. But despite being in such a great place it was very very quiet and peaceful. Apartment was very spacious and in a great location. Kitchen was fully stocked. Lots of dishes. The two bathrooms were a good size but lack any type of shelving or small cabinets for toiletries. We had issues with the bedroom windows (in room #1) as they did not fully close properly and we had numerous mosquitoes coming in at night, resulting in lots of lost sleep and bites. The bedding provided was also very light considering the time of year, extra blankets were found in the storage closet but something more substantial would be appreciated.
