Splendidly situated at the meeting point of 3 Venetian sestieri (districts) – Castello, Cannaregio and San Marco – a quick sidestep off one of the city’s main arteries linking the Strada Nova/Sant’ Apostoli to San Bartolomeo/Rialto and within walking distance of all the iconic sights and attractions of St. Mark’s Square (via numerous hidden and not-so-hidden routes!) along with a host of Venetian gems, including the dainty jewel-box church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli and the house of Marco Polo (the latter situated just moments from your door). Close to the Rialto Bridge (which crosses the Grand Canal to the Rialto food markets of San Polo), and to a variety of shops, bars and restaurants including the old favourites Osteria Al Portego and the semi-hidden and solidly traditional Osteria Il Milion. Within a short stroll of the vaporetto (water bus) stop at Rialto for exploring the city, the ‘traghetto’ gondola ferries crossing the Grand Canal at Santa Sofia and the Riva Del Carbon, and to 2 well-stocked supermarkets (a Coop and a Despar) also found along the bustling Riva Del Carbon. \*\*Please note that the operation of air-conditioning and heating are subject to municipality regulation. It was really well located for exploring on foot, while also being very quiet in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped when we needed a rest from eating out, and we found a fantastic small supermarket very close by and really appreciated your recommendations. Arranging our pick up to be shown to the apartment was not as easy as we hoped. The person meeting us was looking for a family of 4 when we were 3, and my phone was not working at the time so it took some time to find each other. The property manager assisted with booking transportation to and from the airport and met us at the drop off location. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. Grocery very close by and restaurants and bars are everywhere. Cons: Beds are extremely hard. Feather beds on top of the mattresses would make a HUGE difference. Also property instructions left by the owner indicate the ability to wash and dry laundry. However, the washer does not match the instructions, and the only way to dry laundry is on the clothesline or to take it to a laundromat that is close by. I would definitely book again based on the location and accommodations with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. ##### Joshua H. Great location! My husband and our grown kids (18 and 22 yrs) were very comfortable during our stay. The entire team was responsive and delightful! They offered to reserve a water taxi for transport from Marco Polo airport, which we accepted. The water taxi stop is a short 2 minute walk away. A representative met us at the dock to guide us to the apartment. If you take the water bus it is about an 8 minute walk and a couple bridges with steps to consider if you have rolling luggage but that is the case for almost any apartment. Everything was within close walking distance and it is quiet during the night. There are restaurants and shopping right outside. The apartment was exactly as pictured and had all we needed to make our stay comfortable. The air conditioning was great! The beds and pillows were comfortable. Both the bathrooms had showers, hair dryer, and shampoo. The washer came in handy. We brought a travel clothesline but there is also a line outside the window and a few clothespins by the washer if needed. The kitchen had everything we needed. We purchased coffee pods, drinks, and a few other items at a nearby market. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed there again when we returned for the last few days of our trip. The location is very convenient to points of interest, but on a small side street that is very quiet. There are lots of restaurants and shops just minutes away.
