"Transfers to the property are expensive, cheapest is like $70 from the Liberia Airport. Check-in went pretty poorly. It took forever to get checked in after a 45 minute ride to the property. When we got to the front of the long checkin line, the receptionist told us her turn was over and recommended we get to the back of another line. That frustrated me and my visibly pregnant wife. They eventually said they would check us in, but I’m pretty sure they retaliated against us putting us in a room really far away from the restaurants, beach, and main pool. The room also didn’t have any sort of view. When we got to our room, our fridge was broken and all the drinks inside were warm. Fortunately, once we showered and got over our frustrations, the rest of the trip went well. Good pools, good food, good service apart from check in. They fixed our fridge after submitting a request on the app. We also found a local bus that only charged us $3 a person to take us to the Liberia Terminal. It was hot and uncomfortable but worth it to save the $100 that the transfers were quoting us. If you’re interested in this option, you just have to walk to the entrance of the hotel and cross the street and wait for a bus that says Liberia. We saw monkeys while waiting too. The only other complaint was that there were a lot of bees everywhere especially at the drinks. The entertainment was also pretty lame tbh. I complained a lot but I actually really enjoyed my time."

"Clean room and property was landscaped and maintained daily. Service around pool area was good. Overall food was good nothing outstanding We ate at steak restaurant where lobster was chewy and steak fatty. Coffee bar on main floor was great. This resort lacked entertainment on the property compared to other RIU We did attend the neon party next door but even that was so so. Overall would rate this trip a 7"

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and are already planning to come back next year! The resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Everything was extremely clean, neat, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, conveniently located, and comfortable, which made traveling with kids so much easier. We traveled as three families with children ages 6, 7, and 8, and we always felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. The kiddie pool area was fantastic, especially the shaded covered section where parents could comfortably sit and watch the kids even during the hottest parts of the day. The main pool was also beautiful and relaxing. Another pleasant surprise was the food. We genuinely enjoyed everything we ate. Yes, there is a buffet, which naturally repeats some dishes throughout the week, but they also have menu options that were excellent. The Eggs Benedict were wonderful, and the cheeseburgers were honestly incredible. The location is amazing - literally right across the small dirt road from the beach. The waves were stronger than we expected, so we watched the kids carefully, but they still had an amazing time. The service was outstanding. Scott, the regional director, was constantly checking on guests and making sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. Overall, we truly had an amazing experience and highly recommend this resort for families! "

"Casa Alegre is awesome! It was the perfect place to stay, you are t in the touristy town but a great place to relax. The beach was awesome and the people in the area were friendly and welcoming. The property management team addressed any concerns quickly! When we visit Costa Rica again we will be back at Casa Alegre"

"The food was why I took off a star. Buffet same every day and not all That appealing but the reserve sushi and especially the Italian was dreadful. The Italian was below average ranging to actually not edible. From crunchy gnocchi soup to stale sprinkle on mushy tiramisu. Not good at all. Don't do it if you are going to serve tiny portions that are gross."
