Kids are grown, and now its our time to play. We spent the week of Easter at the Westin, in a jr deluxe suite. We did not stay in the adults only section of the hotel and we're happy we didn't. Our building was an easy walk to the beach, pools, and front desk and once we were at our room you couldn't hear a thing outside. We really enjoyed finding the monkeys in the trees, the quaty's, and all of the lizards. We requested reservations for the first 2 nights before we arrived and then spent a few minutes on the phone after we arrived to set up the rest of the week. It took a little patience, but we never had an issue getting in. This isn't a foodie resort, but its average... what they do get huge credit for is how they handled my gluten free needs. I was asked multiple times at each restaurant, everyone had great options, and the manager of the buffet personally show me what I could eat and what they could go make in clean area just me. For those of us with a gluten allergy, you understand how important it is.
The beach was busy, yes, there's a gauntlet to get thru, but everyone accepted a no thank you and moved on. Chairs and umbrellas were gone early, but you usually could find someone leaving as you arrived. In the evening, the drinks at the Imperial Bar were always great and the entertainment that starts at 9 was a fun way to spend the evening.
Overall, we enjoyed this resort - it was busy, but well managed, clean and never had a party feel.
