Ideal for a family of up to 4 or 2 couples for a retreat. This guesthouse is close to everything, 30-35 minutes to Ft Benning/Columbus, pine MTN/Calloway Gardens & Auburn/Opelika. Private Hot tub, fire pit and hammock. Free access to the shared boat ramp, multiple piers, beach area, chairs/loungers, kayaks, fishing gear and more. You just need your Alabama or Georgia fishing license. Only the specific guests noted in the booking are allowed on the premises without prior approval from the host. We have lovingly named our 4.5 acres the Herons Nest. On the property we have the main house on the water in which we live. Additionally, there is a guesthouse (Blue Heron) and cottage (Green Heron) that are both Short-term Rentals that can be rented separately or together but are spaced out enough that you have your own space and privacy. Both places have their own individual fire pits, hammocks, patios and share the pier, beach, and boat ramp located in front of the main house. The boathouse on the water is for the owner's use only, please don't go on the boathouse. Additionally, the hosts live on the property and respects our guest's privacy, but we will be sure to say hi if we see you out and about in the shared areas. By making this reservation, you are accepting this liability waiver. Honestly, this is the best rental we have stayed at! Howard and Anjel are very responsive and considerate hosts. The house is very nice, and extremely clean. Cleanliness is a very important factor for me and the Blue Heron was exceptional. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook a nice meal. There is a grill, a fire pit stocked with wood for us to use. Extra bedding and towels. They really thought of everything you might want during your stay. We used the kayaks and paddle board. We sat outside at night and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, and we weren’t bothered by mosquitoes or any bugs because they do a great job with upkeep of the grounds and landscaping. Howard even took us to Two Tree church in his boat and then gave us a boat tour of the lake! So nice! We will absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone. We had plenty of privacy, the house was well stocked, extremely clean and well built. The hot tub was a treat and the hammock was the perfect reading spot. Water access was easy and the dock we used was sturdy and very relaxing with two lounge chairs. We didn’t get to use the fire put but that setup was very nice. We definitely give this property and hosts a 10/10 and will hopefully be able to stay here again for our next trip. ##### Kate N. Howard has created a sweet retreat and thoughtfully met all of our travel needs. This is a clean, comfortable place to stay on a beautiful lakeside location with fun, family-focused amenities. The house is great and was a perfect place for everyone to unwind by the water and firepit. All the lake amenities they offer were great. The house is very clean and everything is very well thought out to make you comfortable. It has everything you need to make it your own home while staying there. By far one of the best vrbo I have stayed in. Perfect for 4 adults. You won't be disappointed with stay. ##### Chad E. Perfect place for our teenage kids. They could fish from the dock around the clock! The house was the cleanest STR we’ve ever rented! There is a special attention to detail that really makes you feel welcome. The owners are nearby if you need them but distant enough to feel secluded. The boat ramp is scary so we decided to use the public launch that was nearby. We truly loved it and plan to return! ##### Kirk W. Everything you could expect was found inside. I'm not persnickety about having new stuff, but it was quite evident the furnishings were newer and high end. Clean! My plans changed, so I did not even get to use the kayaks, fish... or even grill out and use the firepit, but the peacefulness and views of the water from every window was priceless. My little family and I were blown away at the beauty that awaited us upon our arrival. If it is peace and relaxation you are seeking....then the Blue Heron guest house is for YOU! The guest house looked as if it were brand new! Simply gorgeous!!! We saw no flaws...It had everything a small family could every need or ask for in a house by such a stunning lake. We slept great, woke up & had a great cup of coffee outside while glaring out at the gorgeous sunrise on the beautiful lake. My husband enjoyed fishing and his boat rides; while, our special needs daughter played in the sand at the beach area for the very first time. To top it off, meeting the owners/host while there was a treat that made our stay even sweeter! I'm happy to say, that we made many great memories here and pray to return very soon! ##### Rebecca W. After reviewing the property and reading the reviews and looking at the approximate location on the lake we booked. I can honestly say after checking in and walking in I can't think of one thing the owners have not thought of that could have made the home feel more like being home! The layout of the bedrooms and bathroom gave both of us plenty of comfort and privacy. Views of the lake from the front and rear of the home, ample parking for the truck and boat (covered carport). Beds very comfortable, plenty of towels, blankets, comfortable seating in the living room. Kitchen well stocked, Kuerig coffee pot with good assortment of teas and coffee. My fishing partner and I discussed the stay on the way home and decided anytime we are fishing Lake Harding and this property is available we will not hesitate to reserve it again. We had the best time staying at the Blue Herion. The place had everything you could imagine and more. From the fire pit to the grill she had everything that you would need down to the lighter. The S’mores were the kids favorite. The cottage was so comfy and cozy, and there is lots to do on the lake. The cottage was the best so far we have stayed at..
