Very good, peaceful accommodations with outstanding view
Apartment was large, clean, with outstanding views. Very quiet and peaceful location high above Darkwood Beach away from tourist traps. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. Apartment would benefit from conversion of the second bedroom into a combo, living room/bedroom, with seating and a pull out bed for sleeping as there was no real indoor sitting space to watch weather and news on tv and also some storage space for clothing in the bedrooms. Ken and his family were very accommodating and responsive to anything we asked. Great for short or long term stay away from crowds!! A vehicle rental is required as location is not walking distance to shops. No AC but good breeze kept us comfortable.

What a gem!!!!
What can I say about Beleza Pura? You have to come here and stay, experience and enjoy for yourself!!!! A beautiful house located in the bush at Darkwood. You have a stunning view of the mountains (you are staying in them) and the sea. The beach (Darkwood) is across the road (about a 10 min walk) and its like your own private escape. Was never crowded and always peaceful. Beleza Pura is off the main road, down a dirt road and up a hill, but it is worth the trip. You will enjoy the peaceful sounds of the birds and cows mooing in the valley. Beautiful flowers, mango and banana trees right outside your door. A balcony to take in the sunset, passing rain clouds, sit and enjoy a meal or take a midday snooze to escape the heat. The island breeze flows through the apartment calming your senses and reminding you why life is beautiful. The apartment was lovely, a full kitchen with dishes and pans, refrigerator, iron, lovely bathroom and 2 bedrooms and a safe. Never once do you feel threatened or unsafe. The buses run on the main road so you can get to jolly harbor to food shop and eat. Ken, the owner and host and his sister are so welcoming and accommodating. They communicate with your before your arrival and have a plethora of information to help you enjoy your stay. On top of it all, they are truly genuine, welcoming, warm hearted, kind, beautiful people. A rare find in this world today.

Outstanding
If you love mountains and the great outdoors, this place is for you. I've traveled to more than 1000 destinations on four continents in the past 20 years. The service here was impeccable. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The actual apartments are on top of a massive dirt road hill. At first it may seem intimidating, but once you are on top you will realize that you are at the best spot on the entire island. It has a breathtaking view of everything, including the entire ocean. Priceless!!!!!

Beautiful, quiet, comfortable, and spacious.
This was the most relaxing and perfect place and I am so thankful to have booked here!! We were well taken care of. The only negative was that it was hard for us to find, even with the pin on the map provided on the website, and my Antiguan brother in law helping us find our way. A sign at the main road you turn off of would be extremely helpful. Our only saving grace was a screen shot of the map, and a screen shot of the picture of the house to go off of while driving around. Antigua doesn't have numbered addresses, so the photo would be very helpful for others as well. Our troubles ended there however, the house was amazing, we stayed in the 3 bed 2 bath apartment, and were very warmly welcomed by our host. Anything we needed was provided right away, it's a short drive to the beach, basic accommodations are stored at the apartment (kitchen towels, tea, pans and utensils etc). We rented a van, and it was definitely a rough road going up to the apartment, but that is common in the unpaved areas in Antigua. The view from the wrap around porch was breathtaking. We had children with us, and felt comfortable with the oldest playing outside around the house, lots to explore! Highly recommend!!!!

Friendly, comfy, close to good beach
Clean, comfy 2-bed flat in a 3-flat house close to the beach. The kitchen has enough equipment to cook in. There's a washing machine in a shared utilities area. Both beds are very comfortable with firm mattresses. No lounge but balcony/kitchen tables. A ceiling fan in bedroom 1/ standing fan in the other kept us cool, especially with the breeze (we were there in Jan). The windows have screens so you can leave them open. There are mossies generally on the island so bring spray. There is a small safe but we felt we didn't need it, there was such a safe atmosphere. There's a TV in one room, with cable, HDMI and USB. House and beach towels provided. The view from the balcony is of a lake at the bottom of the hill - we regularly saw storks/pelicans. Crickets/frogs sing at night and in the early morning. The beach is 10 min walk along the lake. The way back has a steep uphill bit for the last few mins. Darkwood is one of the best beaches we visited. It can get busy occasionally from the cruise ships, but other beaches are a short drive away. Everywhere on the island you need drinking water so stock up on the first shop or rent a car. Supermarket is 10 mins drive. One of our best experiences in Antigua was meeting our host Ken. He sorted out cars to and from the airport, helped us get a good rate on a car and found out details on kitesurfing / snorkeling. He gave us brilliant advice that helped us make the most of our hols. 10 days too short - we didn't want to come home!
