British Suites (not to be confused with the adjacent British Hotel) is a new hotel (as of Dec 27, 2017). The likeable manager told me my room had only been open for a couple of weeks. My room was clean, spacious and modern. There were a couple of free bottles of water and a small bottle of red wine inside my room. The kitchenette has a small refrigerator, 2 burner stove, pots/pans/dishes/silverware, coffeepot and microwave). The bathroom is modern and clean and the wifi works well. My room had 14 unusual, smallish windows (on one side of the bedroom) that latch open (note: Hotels.com got me and another guest the wrong rooms...I ordered "partial seaview" which is really the Grand Harbour view, but instead the only rooms available were the uninspiring "city view" type (which is a view of a few decrepit buildings a few feet away). Definitely get the harbor-view room (if possible, I suggest directly calling the hotel to book) since the view is amazing! The hotel is located only a couple hundred feet from the Grand Harbour and it faces the remarkable Fort Angelo! The bar/lounge/restaurants also face the harbor which is a breathtaking way to enjoy a tasty meal (by the way, the breakfast was pretty good too). Location-wise, British Suites is about a 5-7 minute uphill walk to the main streets called "Republic" and "Merchant". From there, you can walk to most of the tourist sites, including the outdoor main bus station (about a 15 minute walk). The room was clean and big enough for my wife and our baby twins. Darauf hat weder expedia.de noch das Hotel British suites angemessen reagiert. Mir ist bewusst, dass es sich im Moment um eine Ausnahmesituation handelt und mein Anliegen eigentlich nichts in einer Hotelbewertung zu suchen hat. Ich weiß mir allerdings im Moment nicht anders zu helfen, da niemand aus dem Kundenservice erreichbar ist. The sun rises right there in front of the terrace and the views of the Mediterranean are breathtaking. We had a Jacuzzi on the terrace as well but it takes a long time to warm up, we could not try it. Just enjoying a room like that after a long day of sightseeing was rewarding enough. The rooms are split into 2 sections so the layout is a bit odd. A lot of steps/uneven surfaces which give it charm but could be worth noting if you have mobility issues. There are elevators but not a seamless connection throughout property. Easy to access both by foot, and surrounded by places to visit. Rooms are accessed through the British Hotel and then up a 'quaint' lift that is not so good for the claustrophobic but functional. View from the sea view rooms is fantastic with plenty going on on the water. There is a public lift nearby that can take you to the water front and ferry's, well worth finding if the continual flights of stairs that are Malta get too much. We had a room with a beautiful view of the water. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel and room had everything we needed. However, the hotel itself was a little disjointed: it was a bit of a maze to find our room, and there was no elevator service to our room. Hot tub was great but took hours to heat and had not been pre heated and this was not mentioned or included in the instructions. Lots of stairs to climb as the layout of the hotel is lots of bits clearly joined together. We were note offered help up with our bags. The room was a little aged and could have done with a little maintenance. The king bed described was two singles pushed together with a double bed sheet and then two separate twin duvets. If you are looking for a lovely view and can manage lots of stairs then it was good. When we arrived,we got room #601...which was almost totally underground.The Bedroom and Bathroom were down in a very dark area ,with little natural light. When i booked the room,i asked for something on a low level,as my wife had recently had leg surgery! This room was very difficult to access,with steps up and down...plus another steep set of stairs to the bedroom,which we called the dungeon. We complained about the room,but the Hotel was fully booked. The management offered us a regular room,with a sea view,but only after we spent 3 nights in the dungeon. We accepted and spent 2 nights in a regular room with a sea view.. I had also booked a 6th night,through Expedia and the Hotel offered to refund that entirely,rather than us having to go back into room #601\. They were true to their word and honoured their agreement. I thank them for that. The Hotel is in a great spot to explore Valetta and the bar and restaurant have lovely sea views,as did the room we had for 2 nights. The hotel arranged transforms for us from the airport to the hotel and added the service to the bill, which made cashless transactions easier. The gentleman on reception was welcoming and helpful and the room we stayed in was quite large and had everything we needed including a mini kitchen! Getting to the room was a bit of an adventure though, there are two buildings it seems that make up the hotel and therefore two sets of lifts and a short journey between the two. We stayed for one night and opted for the breakfast, it was simple but sufficient to start the day.
