I stayed at the Dorma Linajes for two nights at the time of the eclipse in 2026. The location of the hotel was excellent from that point of view - a short walk into the countryside gave a clear view of the sun at the appropriate time. It is also a short walk to the Plaza Mayor in the town centre.
The rate was reasonable and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast is well stocked and also very reasonably priced at €10pp.
My room was on the 6th floor and small, but neat and comfortable. The aircon was excellent. Note that the lift only goes up to the 5th floor - there are stairs up to the 6th.
Two oddities:
1) The hotel terrace is not open after breakfast, which is a shame, as my room had no balcony. It would have been nice to be able to sit out. (The eclipse would have been visible from it.)
2) There is no kettle in the room. There is a kettle in reception, but no tea or coffee! (Bring your own, I guess.)

Amazing location. Close to everything. Full amenities, multiple roof top terraces, bars, live music everyday, great pool and gym. Staff are super helpful and welll trained. Beautifully designed interior with many quiet spaces to hang out and lounge around. The incredible music staff arranged a private vinyl player and vinyl records from their quite large selection of vinyls brought to the room, 10/10!!!!
Well worth it to stay a few nights to give you the ability to easily and hassle free access the full Madrid experience.

"Beautiful hotel and lovely staff. Plasencia is abit of a dump but this hotel is a wonderful oasis. We stayed with our dogs. They had a big bed and bowls and nibbles welcoming them. We had a stunning suite. Loved our stay there"
