This is an older hotel but obviously in a great location next to the train station. We experienced no unpleasant noise from trains and I don’t think there are many later in the evening or early in the morning. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast included in our rate was good. They also extended a welcome drink. The beds were pretty hard, and the bath towels need to be bleached, they were yellowing. I was disappointed when I saw that the rate for the hotel was much lower then what I had booked it for months in advance, so I think we proclaim too much and if I had checked sooner I could have cancelled and re-booked. Uwajima was generally disappointing, very little to do, and everything in the town but restaurants closed by 6\.
